MUCHEA VEAL REPORT 27th JULY, 2015
Veal numbers were down by 41 head on last week to a total of 132.
Numbers were dominated by pastoral drafts, seeing only a small number
of local heifers and bulls sold.
Very strong competition saw medium weight heifers sell from $400 to
$500 to grazier bids. Heavy local heifers suitable for processors sold to
$565. Heavy local bulls sold from $560 to $590.
Pastoral heifer numbers dominated the yarding today gaining $5 to $10
over all weight categories, due to multiple graziers in attendance. Heavy
weights sold from $395 to $465, medium weights from $290 to $360 and
limited numbers of light weights from $160 to $260.
Pastoral bulls were equal on last week’s sale despite one buyer not being
in attendance. Heavy weights sold from $440 to $475, while medium
weights sold from $ 310 to $420.
