MUCHEA VEAL REPORT 3rd MARCH, 2015
A smaller offering of good quality calves was offered at Muchea today with
a total of 108 head, down from 168 last week.
Today’s yarding was dominated by local cattle with only a few pens of
pastoral calves yarded.
Values held firm across all categories regardless of the short week.
Strong enquiry from re stockers and local butchers saw values hold firm
on steers and heifers. Heavy heifers sold to $455, light to medium weight
heifers made from $260 to $310.
Local bulls were in short supply with good buying support on limited
supply. Heavy bulls sold from $500 to $535 with medium weights selling
from $370 to $405.
