National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA)
Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist Training
Over one thousand behavioral health treatment and criminal justice programs in the U.S. offer ear acupuncture
using the NADA protocol (acudetox) to support the treatment and recovery process. NADA strives to make
acudetox-based, barrier-free addiction treatment accessible in all communities and to ensure its integration
with other treatment modalities.
Addiction/mental health treatment professionals, Western medical and Oriental medical practitioners may
learn the NADA protocol in 70 hours, divided into didactic and clinical experiences. This four-day training
towards certificate provides a mixture of both. To complete the process, trainees will do additional homework
assignments, attend 12-step meetings, and complete supervised acudetox treatments. Texas law allows for the
following licensed professionals to cross-train as Certified Acu Detox: Social Workers, Nurses, Counselors
(LCDCs, LPCs), and Psychologists. Space is limited.
DATE / TIME:
January 20 – 22, Monday through Wednesday 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and a follow-up
day to be announced. Trainees are responsible for completing additional supervised
acudetox clinical hours and homework assignments and will not be considered eligible
for NADA ADS certificates until they document completion.
CREDIT:
