RESOLUTION NO. 2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF HALLANDALE BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
(ILA) WITH BROWARD COUNTY TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL
FUNDING AND INCLUSION OF ROUTE NO. 4 OF THE CITY
COMMUNITY BUS SERVICE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FIRST AMENDMENT
AGREEMENT IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME FORM AS
ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT A AND RELATED
DOCUMENTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City offers a mini bus transportation service for residents and
visitors of the City; and

WHEREAS, on November 6, 2013, the City added an additional route for service
bringing the total number of City routes to four (4); and

WHEREAS, pursuant to an interlocal agreement (“ILA”) with Broward County, the
City receives partial funding for the community mini bus service routes 1, 2, and 3; and

WHEREAS, Broward County has evaluated route 4 and has agreed to increase
26
funding by an amount of fifty six thousand six hundred twenty ($56,620.00) dollars,
27
bringing the County’s total funding amount to two hundred twenty two thousand four
28
hundred eighty ($222,480.00) dollars annually for all four (4) routes; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the current ILA to obtain the additional
funding for route 4;

WHEREAS, City Administration recommends that the Mayor and City
34
Commission approve the First Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement with Broward
35
County to obtain additional funds in the amount of fifty six thousand six hundred twenty
36
($56,620.00) dollars for a total annual funding amount of two hundred twenty two
37
thousand four hundred eighty ($222,480.00) dollars for all four minibus routes, and to
38
authorize the City Manager to execute the first amendment to the ILA; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission have determined that City
Administration’s recommendation is in the best interest of the residents of the city.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HALLANDALE BEACH, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1. Approval of First Amendment to the LA. The Mayor and City
47
Commission hereby approve the First Amendment to the ILA with Broward County to
48
provide for additional funding in the amount of fifty six thousand six hundred twenty
49
($56,620.00) dollars for a total annual funding amount of two hundred twenty two
50
thousand four hundred eighty ($222,480.00) dollars for the City’s community mini bus
51
routes 1, 2, 3, and 4.

SECTION 2. City Manager Authorization. The Mayor and City Commission
54
hereby authorize the City Manager to execute the First Amendment to the ILA with
55
Broward County. The City Manager is authorized to take all necessary action to
56
implement the project and to effectuate the terms of the Amended ILA.

SECTION 2. Effective Date.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
