WHEREAS, STUDENT NAME, is a student attending Carver Community
Middle School in Delray Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS, Carver Community Middle School held an election in its
Carver Morning School Program to establish a Carver Council and participated
in a Mock City Commission Meeting in support of Florida City Government
Week for; and
WHEREAS, STUDENT NAME was elected to the position of Mayor which
won her the opportunity to take a trip to City Hall to get a first-hand look at
how her local government works; and
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, STUDENT NAME was
recognized at the City Commission meeting for participating in the Florida
City Government Week at Carver Community Middle School.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, NELSON, S. MCDUFFIE, Mayor of the City of
Delray Beach, Florida, on behalf of the City Commission do hereby proclaim:
STUDENT NAME
as
MAYOR
for the day of October 19, 2010, and encourage him/her to continue to learn
more about her government and look forward to STUDENT NAME becoming a
concerned citizen of Delray Beach, Florida.
