Victor Gold Rush Days Parade Parade Day, July 18, 2010 Victor, Colorado 719-689-2091 or 719-306-0994 Victor Gold Rush Days Committee PO Box 572 Victor, CO 80860 Dear Friends and Neighbors, The City of Victor invites you to play in the mountains with us for three fun days as we celebrate our heritage as one of the richest gold mining camps in the region. Join us as we relive the days when Victor streets were paved with gold ore and Victor life revolved around the rich mines surrounding the city. During our celebration in Victor crafters and vendors will be offering unique items celebrating our past and present. Victor parks are filled with mining games that give visitors a chance to experience the challenges miners faced as they searched for and found the rich veins of gold beneath the surface. One of the most anticipated events of our Gold Rush Days celebration is the Sunday parade. Like the rest of the event, the parade celebrates not only our past, but our present and future as well. Crowds line the street to see local folks in historic costumes, vintage cars, and bagpipe players in plaids and kilts, costumed figures and plenty of clowns horses, and kids. We anticipate more prizes for our parade entries this year. We have kept the crowd pleasing comedy category so get crazy, get creative and let’s have fun with this one! We have also added a larger crew of parade guides to answer questions and show you where to go. This should facilitate a smooth lineup. You will see the guides at key points in orange vests. Your entry forms have check-in times and places as well as categories. It might be helpful to make a copy of your entry form to keep for yourself. Entries need to be returned by July 1st. Mail them to the address at the top of this letter. If you need a few extra days, please call 719-689-2091 and let us know so we can pencil you in. It is easier to remove an entry at the last minute than to add one. Now that the serious stuff is out of the way, let’s come prepared to “get down” and have a great time. Yours with anticipation for fun, excitement and entertainment, Lonesa and Naomi Victor Gold Rush Days Parade Committee Victor Gold Rush Days Parade Entry July 18, 2010, Victor, Colorado Contact Name: ________________________________Phone: ____________________Date: __________ Contact Address: ________________________________________________________ Name of Club or Organization: _____________________________________________ Description of entry to be read by M/C during parade (please be brief): Which category best describes your entry?
