“Peter Pan, Jr.”
Costumes
Peter Pan takes place in the fictional world of Never Land. Each
character’s costume must help bring our story to life. Costumes are the
responsibility of each actor. Some costume parts may be provided for
group actors. You may choose to purchase your costume or create it
yourself.
Look on the internet for pictures and ideas. Have fun!
*Once you have assembled your costume, bring it in a bag to your next
rehearsal to be checked. You will need to have your costume pre-approved
before our dress rehearsal on February 22nd.
Peter Pan: Stick with shades of green and brown. Start with a green shirt and a
pair of slim fitting pants. Add a green, felt hat with a brightly colored feather
sticking out the back and a pair of sandals or jazz shoes. Add a belt of fabric with a
loop to hold a sword. See the internet to create an authentic looking costume.
The Darlings: the Darling family should be the most simply dressed group of
characters since they live in the real world, not Never Land.
Wendy: A long blue nightgown with buttons, black slippers or ballet flats, an
oversized blue bow in hair worn down, half up in front. A costume change into a
“princess” dress is needed.
John: A long, white nightshirt and pants or a pajamas set. Brown shoes or slippers,
a black top hat, and dark-rimmed glasses.
Michael: One piece footie pajamas or a matching pajama set with matching socks
and a teddy bear.
Mr. Darling: Black pants with a belt, a white button-down shirt and white
undershirt, jacket, and black dress shoes.
Mrs. Darling: Long gown with nice shoes, nice shoes, and hair in an up-do.
Nana: A doggie costume with a black nose and head piece with ears. Start with
sweatpants and add felt spots. Do not cover your face.
Tinkerbell: A brightly colored fairy costume with wings and some personal
touches like a belt or simple jewelry. Bells will be provided.
Indians: Provide own Indian costume just the way you would imagine them.
Brown pants or short skirt, vest, head piece, sash, belt,…
Tiger Lily: A proud and beautiful princess – Brown shirt and long brown skirt with
a headband. Consider adding a chunky necklace, vest, and a feather.
Chief Tiger Bamboo: An Indian costume with a full headdress. Add a long jacket to
distinguish from the rest of the group.
Lost Boys: Costumes should be inspired by nature and wild animals. They are bold
and fearless, and dress to go exploring. Use sweatshirt, flannel shirt, brown pants,
or knickers with socks, in earth tones. Add a vest, suspenders, knit hat, belt, or other
accessory.
Pirates: The pirates are ruffians of the high seas. Think dark, dirty, and villainous.
Costumes should be tattered and dirty. Use either shorts or pants, t-shirts, or
button-down shirt as a base costume. Pair solid colors and striped patterns
together. Add an eye patch, vest, bandana, sash, and/or hat. (no swords)
Smee: Blue shorts, red and white striped shirt, red hat, bandana, brown sandals,
round eyeglasses. See the internet to create an authentic looking costume.
Captain Hook: Start with a pair of black pants, a white button-down shirt, and a big
red coat. Build upon this base by adding a pair of black boots, and oversized pirate
hat with a feather on top, a white neckchief and a god sash that can hold a sword.
Add a mustache and the infamous hook for a hand. Consider a wasteband for the
pants, as they need to fall to reveal a pair of funny boxer shorts for a gag.

Crocodile: Green clothing from head to foot with gray scales, a crocodile snout built
out of cardboard, and a tail made of mattress foam.
Fairies: A skirt and wings will be provided for a uniform group look. You will need
to supply tights and a leotard or tank top. Please do not purchase yet. We will let
you know what color you will be assigned.
Mermaids: A mermaid tail and headpiece will be provided. You will need to supply
tights and a leotard or tank top. Please do not purchase yet. We will let you know
what color you will be assigned.
