Roma steers make 160c/kg
A total yarding of 1109 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on
Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 160c/kg and averaged 145c/kg, while steers in the 400550kg earned to 160c/kg and averaged 131c/kg.
Roma State College sold two Blonde D’Aquitaine steers to 160c/kg for 560kg to
return $897/head. The steers were purchased by JBS Australia.
John York, Taunton, Roma, sold Simmental-cross steers to 149c for 650kg to return
$969.
Heifers over 450kg sold to 130c/kg and averaged 119c/kg, while heifers in the 350450kg sold to 129c/kg and averaged 114c/kg.
H & M Cameron, Kilima, Roma, sold Santa-cross heifers to 129c for 452kg to return
$584.
RX Enterprises, Womalbrook, Mitchell, sold Angus-cross heifers to 122c for 424kg to
return $518.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 128c/kg and averaged 114c/kg, while cows in the 400500kg class topped at 128c/kg and averaged 104c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold to
85c/kg and averaged 76c/kg.
R & S Pether, Autevil Station, Barcaldine, sold Brahman cows to 128c for 591kg to
return $758.
Rosedale Trust, Ernestia, Longreach, sold Santa cows to 124c for 560kg return
$696.
E & C Rolfe, Marie Downs, Roma, sold Santa-cross cows to 118c for 606kg return
$717.
R & E Cloherty, Reben Downs, Injune, sold Santa cows to 118c for 570kg to return
$673.
Ross West, Roleen, Wallumbilla, sold Hereford cows to 115c for 637kg to return
$733.
G & M Baker, Guestling, Charleville, sold Santa-cross cows to 113c for 545kg to
return $617.
Allan Pastoral Co, Oakvale, Mitchell, sold Brahman cows to 113c for 531kg to return
