At school today, your child met their new class teacher in preparation for next year. Below is
a list of classes for next year and names of teachers.

*Mrs Hathaway will teach Tuesday to Friday and Mrs King will teach on Mondays. A separate
parentmail will be sent out to explain this arrangement further
There will be a job share in class 4H, with Mrs King teaching the class on Mondays and Mrs
Hathaway teaching the class for the rest of the week. A separate parentmail will be sent shortly to
relevant parents to explain this arrangement in a little more detail.
All new teachers will be present in the school during open evening on 9th July if you would like to put
a face to a name (please note, however, that Mrs Bicheno will only be available between 6:00 and
7:00 pm as she also has open evening in her current school). You can also take the opportunity to
ask your child to show you where their new classroom will be located.
Exiting arrangements at the end of the day for each class are listed in the table above.
Please note, all children line up in the Junior playground in the mornings. Parents are reminded that
they need to leave the playground promptly at 8:50am, when the bell goes for children to line up.
Staff will be on duty from 8:45 am.
Staffing Changes
As indicated in a previous newsletter, Ms Bremeyer and Mrs Houghton will not be returning in
September as they will both be going on maternity leave. After ten years of commitment to
Sunnymede Junior School, Mrs Dines will be leaving us to take up a Deputy Headship in pastures
new. We will miss her enormously but know she will do a fabulous job in her new school. I am sure
you will join me in wishing them all the best for the future.
I am pleased to tell you that we have three new class teachers joining our teaching team in
September. Mrs Bicheno will by teaching Class 6B and will also take over the Maths Subject Leader
role from Miss Dines, as well as being a member of the Leadership team. Mr Tait will also be joining
our Year 5 team and Mr Bigland will join our Year 4 team. I am sure you will join me in welcoming
them to the school.
You will note that Miss Livingston will have a new name, Mrs Maclean, from September. She is
getting married over the summer holiday and we hope she has a fantastic day.
Meet the Teacher Sessions
We will be having our usual ‘Meet The Teacher’ sessions in the first week back next term and hope
that you will be able to attend . This is a chance to meet with the class teacher, for them to give you
some information about class routines, expectations and the curriculum to be covered. It will also
provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. The dates are below. Please note
that all sessions will commence at 3:30 pm and will last no more than one hour. You will need to
collect your child from their class at 3:15pm and then make your way to the main school entrance to
sign in. Children will be able to go into a separate class room where they will be supervised by
members of staff.
