September Book Review
The Candymakers
During the school year, many parents are encouraging their kids to
read more. The most important part of reading is to find a book that
you or your child likes. One book I suggest is "The Candymakers" by Wendy Mass. This book is recommended for ages 9-12. It
is filled with mystery, adventure and several surprises. This book is
described as "A candy-coated mystery full of mouthwatering
surprises!"
"The Candymakers" is about four kids who will be competing in a candy-making contest. The four kids, named Logan, Miles,
Daisy and Philip, will be competing with an additional 28 children from around
the country. Most readers will be intrigued by the mystery and secrecy behind this candy-filled story. You will soon be wondering about
who will win. Is it going to be Logan, Miles, Daisy, Philip, or some
other lucky contestant? In addition to the mystery and adventure, the
writing style is also a big part of this novel. The book was told in each
character's point of view. This writing approach gives the reader a
view on how each character feels and what they are thinking. Also, it
does not feel like you are constantly rereading the same book over
and over again. The author, Wendy Mass, incorporates new
details to keep
the story flowing.
I highly recommend that you read this book. There are many more
books by Wendy Mass that you may like. Some of them include "Every
Soul a Star", "A Mango-Shaped Space", and "Jeremy Fink
and the Meaning of Life." I have already read "Every Soul
a Star", but I hope to read her other books in the future. In conclusion,
Wendy Mass is an entertaining author and I recommend that you read her amazing
books.
