The Greater Prince William Community Health Center is seeking an Executive Director to lead our non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center.

Opportunity

This position is an opportunity for an experienced healthcare executive to lead a rapidly growing organization with two locations, and a planned third location, in Northern Virginia.

The Centers provide affordable access to integrated and coordinated care for the whole family under one roof. The Center expects to serve 16,000 patients in 64,000 encounters this fiscal year.

The Center serves the rapidly growing population of Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park. The Greater Prince William area has a population of nearly 500,000 and is the only minority-majority (less than half of the population is reported as non-Hispanic and of one race – White) jurisdiction in Northern Virginia. The next Executive Director will have the opportunity to build on a substantial foundation of success and expand access to our integrated care model. Organization

The Center is one of 22 FQHCs in the state of Virginia and one of three located in Northern

Virginia. The Center manages two locations (Woodbridge, Manassas), both approximately

15,000 square feet of office space and provides comprehensive primary, dental, behavioral, and

OB-GYN services in a culturally competent manner in several languages, including Spanish,

Urdu, Hindi, and French. The Center also provides laboratory, pharmacy, and other enabling services. The Center has been designated by NCQA a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH),

Level III. The Center is financially strong, operationally sound, and is well positioned to continue its rapid growth with a New Access Point in Dumfries, Virginia (announcement anticipated in May, 2015)

The Center utilizes several “state of the art" technologies to improve workflows and productivity including: eClinicalWorks, Patient Portal, Patient Kiosk, Peachtree, and BridgeIT.

The Center serves patients in 34 zip codes, including patients in the National Capital Region.

Our core markets include Dumfries, Manassas, and Woodbridge, particularly along the Route 1 corridor. The Center is staffed with approximately 49 paid FTEs plus an additional 9

“embedded” and contract staff, including 15 providers. The Center serves as teaching locations for three area universities Nurse Practioner programs. Embedded staff include providers, pharmacists, and administrative personnel are paid by community partners and assigned to our

Centers. Contract staff assists with strategic planning and grant writing.

The Center facilitates on-site mammography, pharmacy, laboratory, homeless, and schoolbased dental services. The Center coordinates patient care with Sentara Northern Virginia

Medical Center, Novant Prince William Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, and INOVA Health

Systems.

Position

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the management, administrative, financial and clinical performance of the Center. The new Executive Director will provide visible, engaged, strategic and operational leadership and will build partnerships with dozens of community partners. The Executive Director is the primary representative of the Center in its relationship with the public, other health organizations, elected officials, government, and the Board of Directors. The new Executive Director will promote the mission in word and deed, and champion its vision and value in the community.

The Executive Director will guide the Center through the “Federal fiscal cliff”, possible opening of a third location, development of a new strategic plan, payment reforms, ICD-10, Meaningful

Use (Level II), expanding services, and consistently improving the health outcomes of the patients we serve. The Executive Director will foster a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and transparency.

Candidate

The next Executive Director will be an accomplished and forward-looking business leader with a strong grasp of the grass roots realities of primary care delivery in an underserved suburban safety net, with opportunities for potential expansion. The ideal candidate will have an extensive healthcare background with progressive experience in management and oversight of major organizational divisions. This individual will balance prudent business and financial management with a true mission-driven sense of stewardship. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build rapport and a strong, collaborative culture of mutual respect with all staff. A managerial style that is team-driven, open, accessible and transparent is essential for success. Additionally, the candidate will:

 have a vision for opportunities in the period of healthcare reform and changing delivery system and reimbursement models;

 be comfortable building relationships with political and business leaders in the community and maintain our stature and visibility (locally, regionally and nationally);

 demonstrate excellent listening skills that encourages an open door policy; and

 tell our story so all may understand who we are and what we do, including to our own staff so that they may an appreciation for the relevance of their job and be motivated to contribute.
