Next Thursday, March 12, will be the Choir’s Festival Day, where judges will be in all choir
classes to listen to and score our contest music. All choir members will be required to wear
their complete choir uniform that day to school for the entire day. Remember that your
uniform consists of khaki pants, your short-sleeved black polo, and dark-colored dress shoes.
As with all performances, if you are not wearing the correct uniform, then you will not
participate and receive your Festival Day points.
If you have PE, then you will dress out like normal for your class, and then put your uniform
back on. If you normally wear a sweatshirt or sweater to school, it is fine to wear one over
your short-sleeved black polo, then remove that for our performance. Your uniforms must be
worn all day! There won’t be time to change into it before your choir class. Be prepared for
next Thursday by making sure your uniform is clean and ready to be worn. We want to
receive all of our points from the judges for other factors like appearance.
Congratulations to all 5 of the 8th grade band students that advanced to State Solo and
Ensemble Saturday at North Central High School. Each student performed some very
difficult music for judges that were predominantly university music professors throughout
the tri-state area. Congratulations to: Aidan Cunningham-Gold, marimba solo, Olivia
Bradford-Gold, flute solo, Megan Martinez-Gold, alto saxophone solo, Drake Heitman-Silver,
snare drum solo and Katie Smarella-Silver, flute solo. Congratulations on these fantastic
accomplishments!
