Pay Scale: part-time $11.00
Job Summary:
Responsible for making sure the grounds of the SHA properties are free of trash and debris.
Education/Certification Requirements:
High school graduation or GED with the ability to read and write English.
Experience Requirements:
None needed.
Qualifications:
This position requires a valid Florida driver’s license, be eligible for coverage under Authority fleet auto
insurance, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and be able to pass an FBI background check.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Must learn and become knowledgeable of the physical layout of the site properties
2. Must be willing to participate in training opportunities to become knowledgeable of safety rules,
including accident causation and prevention
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, subordinates, coworkers, residents, contractors, and the general public
4. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Duties/Responsibilities of Position:
1. Perform pickup of all trash, furniture, or other debris in all areas of property including around
apartments, in common areas, and in right-of-way areas
2. Perform all work Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, unless otherwise instructed
3. Notice residents for excess trash and/or furniture in their immediate area and outside of dumpster
areas prior to removing items and charging a fee
4. Follow up on all fee notices issued and determine if items should be removed and fees should be
charged
5. Report all fees charged to Property Management each day for billing
6. Promptly notify the Maintenance Supervisor when needing additional assistance for items weighing
more than 50 pounds
Demands/Environment:
Work may involve physical exertion while picking up trash or other objects. A considerable amount of time
worked will be spent standing, walking and bending. All work will be done outside and the employee will be
subject to the outside elements. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work involves the normal
risks and discomforts associated with a maintenance environment.
