Pray for us Saint Jude
Dear Families,
On Tuesday, November 10th we will have a special celebration to honor the members of
the Armed Forces. In preparation students will create a poster listing the names of
family members or friends who have served or who are currently serving; please help us
with this project by sending the names and pictures if possible. On November 10 th we
invite all currently serving and retired members to join us for a morning assembly.
Lieutenant Colonel Walser and Air Force volunteers will be present to insure this year’s
Veterans Day Celebration is a memorable learning experience for the students. Both
our Schoolwide Learning Expectations and our School Philosophy ask us to respect
traditions and to develop cultural awareness. This Mary Star tradition teaches our
students the respect and value we place on those who serve our country.
Effective this month, Father Cassian DiRocco, Nick Vilicich and Sharon Gregorio will be
working with our Altar Server Program. Their goal will be to institute a training program
along with dress code and behavior expectations and a schedule. Enclosed is a letter
for alll students in grades 4 – 8; all current servers and anyone interested in becoming a
server will need to fill out the required information along with a parent and a student
signature. Thank you to our students who are willing to give their time and talent !
