This requisition offers a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer an exciting

strong position in our primary, military market place. Since 2005 our headcount has
doubled and Lockheed Martin Ampthill has become known as a leading UK defence
engineering company, delivering on a broad range of contracts for the MoD, prime
contractors across the wider UK market and international defence ministries. Our core
business focuses on systems design, platform integration, manufacture, update and
support of armoured fighting vehicles, C4ISTAR platforms, weaponry technology and
systems research in areas such as ballistic missile defence and composite fabrication
Specific Job Description:
Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill require an experienced Systems Architect to join the
Systems Engineering Department. The role will be to cover all main programmes that are
currently exploiting model based systems engineering practices. Working closely with all
other engineering disciplines, the successful candidate will be responsible for the
generation and maintenance of System Architect models and associated mapping of the
model elements to requirements and other system level analyses using the models. The
successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in managing and developing
system level architectures using SysML/UML in large complex military acquisition
programmes; defining and directing the architecting methodology to a team of architects
and systems engineers; ensuring that the architecting adds value to the overall systems
engineering and development effort and is passionate about the use of architecture within
this environment.
Required Skills:
 Experienced in IBM Rhapsody 7.5 and 8.1.1
 Use of Subversion and other configuration management tools
 UML/SysML development
 Development using IBM Harmony process
 Development of Requirements using Rhapsody
 Development of models for systems analysis
 Linking of models and model objects using Rhapsody Gateway to DOORS
 Development of model outputs using Rational Publishing Engine
Standard Job Description:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk,
and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at
all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation,
operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of
customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical,
schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade
studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer
requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college. Will also consider
individuals with equivalent experience / combined education. Considered an emerging
authority
