Description of Business Environment:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and flexible individual to become part of
the Lockheed Martin UK Ampthill Security Team. We operate a small specialist team
providing general and specialist security and safety support for 900+ staff on a 64 acre
site and other global operations. We operate primarily in the defence environment, but
support operations in the civil sector too. The Team provides direct support to all ongoing projects and is heavily involved in the bid process for new programmes.
Specific Job Description:
Your main task will be to provide direct security management support to the Head of
Security and the Business in a number of disciplines, including:










Leading a small sub-team within the larger Security Team, conducting line
management activities including annual reporting.
The day-to-day management of the site’s physical security requirements, including
design of new secure offices / buildings; the provision of physical security advice to
internal stakeholders; writing design documents and supporting other producing such
documents; advising contractors on physical security upgrade requirements and
standards.
Support the security vetting system in support of fast paced recruitment activities.
Support the management of outward and inward international visits, including liaison
with UK and Foreign government agencies.
Sub-contractor security management, including site surveys, reporting, liaison with
internal and external stakeholders, database management.
Management of HMG contractor security requirements, including third party overseas
facility security clearance processes.
Acting as the day-to-day lead for the site’s security education and awareness training
programme.
Acting as the security Point of Contact for several major vehicle programme teams
Supporting the conduct of security breach and counter-intelligence investigations.
Maintain and conduct audits against security asset, contractors, company and
foreign national databases in support of company and government compliance.



Ensure the supporting written material are produced to deadlines and are of a good
standard.
Support to the management of large, sensitive document libraries - registering,
transfer, dispatch and destruction of sensitive documents.
Produce security reports, presentations and statistics.
Administration and support to other security staff tasks when required.
Required Skills:
 Confident individual who has experience of leading small teams within a larger team.
 Be able to work in isolation; be able to effectively prioritise their tasks, therefore
remainig flexible.
 Knowledge and understanding of Security Policy Framework (SPF) and JSP440.
 Knowledge and experience of government vetting process.
 Current knowledge of government security procedures, including document,
personnel and procedural security, as well as conducting security audit activities.
 Conducting security surveys and writing the supporting letters / reports / documents.
 Experience of physical security / security infrastructure design.
 Able to obtain a MoD Security Clearance.
 Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Databases.
 Be able to conduct effective liaison with external and internal stakeholders including
management.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Previous experience of UK Defence security environment.
 Ability to build lasting stakeholder relationships.
 Knowledge and experience of conducting physical counter-intelligence searches.
 Administrative or relevant transferable skills.
Desired Skills:
 Previous experience of UK Defence Industry security environment.
 An understanding of Information Security and Assurance principles.
 Knowledge and experience of conducting technical counter-intelligence searches.
 An understanding of international security clearance processes.
Standard Job Description:
Develops, and administers security programs and procedures for classified or
proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Studies and implements federal
security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations,
and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies.
Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling,
storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted
records and materials. Conducts security education classes. Investigates security
violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically
achieved through proven professional experience. Will also consider individuals with
equivalent experience / combined education.
