Blacktop Depot Provides “Cool Old Stuff”
Orange, CA,
Blacktop Media mogul, Tony Colombini joins forces with Automobilia expert Chris Unger of
Car Crazy, Inc. to open a vintage auto/cycle memorabilia store in Old Towne Orange, California.
Colombini met Unger after reading an article on the Silver Dollar gasser in Hot Rod Deluxe.
Noting that the photoshoot looked like an awesome location, Colombini tracked down the spot not
far from his studio. On a whim, he introduced himself and the two have been friends since. A
couple of years later, Unger decides to have an auction with many of the vintage porcelain and tin
signs he has collected through the years. Colombini helps him with the marketing and online
portion of the auction. A great success, the duo continue more work together for a couple of years
and when Chris hears word of a space opening in the historic C.W. Moss building, he invites Tony
to partner up and open Blacktop Depot.
Blacktop Depot specializes in original, unique and authentic automobilia. Gas and oil cans,
porcelain signs, speed equipment, tools, vintage toys and more. As a consignment store, people
come in each day with new “Cool Old Stuff” to sell. Blacktop Depot helps liquidate inherited
collectiona, estate sales, or “a garage full of stuff”. Blacktop Depot recently expanded to the 3,000
square foot “Garage” that is flanked on two sides by 8 foot windows making it a great showroom for
personal collector car vehicle sales.
Blacktop Depot is a 5,000 square foot retail and event venue within a 1920’s Plymouth
dealership building in California’s largest historic district Old Towne Orange, in the heart of Orange
County, California. A great location with vintage stores, antique malls and quaint restaurants. The
building is located across the street from the train depot, minutes from Disneyland and central to
most Southern California attractions. They share the building with their landlord C.W. Moss, an
early Ford restoration parts retailer, and Reid’s Rod Parts. A fixture in the community, a one-stop
auto emporium.
The space is also used for monthly Open House gatherings, quarterly auctions and as a
private event venue. Blacktop Depot recently hosted Chris Unger’s Car Crazy Auction. The event
entertained a stand-room only crowd who purchased from the 150 lots available to them on-site
and on-line through their on-line auction partner Proxibid. Approximately half the items on the block
were consigned by local collectors, all whom were pleased by the event results.
Blacktop Depot is located at 418 W. Chapman Ave. Orange, CA 92866, www.BlacktopDepot.com
