Testing Calendar
The following standardized tests are administered to students attending Hamilton City School District
for the 2014-2015 school year:

Ohio Achievement Tests
Grade 3 – Reading only (October 6 – 10, 2014)
Grade 3 – Students who did not pass fall reading test (April 20 – May 1, 2015)

Iowa Assessments Form E/Cognitive Abilities Test Form 7
Grades 3 and 6 (October 27 – November 7, 2014)

Ohio Graduation Tests – Reading, Mathematics, Writing, Science, Social Studies
Grades 11 - 12 retest (October 27 – November 7, 2014)
Grades 10, 11 and 12 (March 16 - 27, 2015)
Grades 10, 11 and 12 retest (June, 2015) TBD

Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Abilities
3-5, 6-8 and OGT Grade Bands – Reading and Mathematics (all testing grades)
(OGT – also tests in Science and Social Studies)
(February 23 – April 17, 2015)

Ohio Test of English Language Acquisition – Grades K-12
Limited English Proficient Students – (January 12 – March 6, 2015)

Next Generation Assessments
Grades 3-9 - Math and English Language Arts
Performance–Based Assessment (Feb. 16 - March 20, 2015)
End of Course Exam (April 13 - May 15, 2015)
Grades 5, 8 and 9 – Science and Grades 4 and 6 - Social Studies
Performance–Based Assessment (March 2 - March 13, 2015)
End of Course Exam (May 4 - May 15, 2015)
Standardized scores from these tests are recorded in the cumulative record of each student and may
be reviewed by the parent upon written request to the school. Student performance on tests helps the
district to individualize instruction.
The NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) will be given as follows by selection of
the Ohio Department of Education and NAEP:
HHS only - Grade 12 – Math, Reading or Science - (February 10, 2015)
There will be no individual results from this test. Only limited national and state results will be provided
through the NAEP website.
In addition, the following assessments are used throughout the school year to monitor student
progress:
 Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) – Kindergarten Only
 Diagnostic Assessments – Grades Kindergarten, 1, 2 and 3
 Star Early Literacy, Reading and Math – Grades 1 – 9
