Cr Tatchell Re-elected as Moorabool Mayor
Central ward councillor Paul Tatchell was re-elected Mayor of Moorabool Shire Council at
last night’s special meeting of council in Ballan.
Cr John Spain was re-appointed Deputy Mayor.
Cr Tatchell said he was looking forward to continuing to represent Council and the
community via the leadership position of Mayor.
“It’s a sign my peers are satisfied with how I’ve handled the role to date, and a vote of
confidence about my ability to lead them and the community for the next 12 months.”
“Council’s endorsement of me as Mayor enables me to build on the relationships I have
developed with state and federal governments over the past 12 months. The office of
Mayor opens doors and enhances the ability to negotiate and advocate for improved
services and infrastructure for a growing Moorabool. “
“There’s still much to do and achieve and I look forward to our Council continuing to work
hard together on the exciting challenges and opportunities that are before us. It’s the best
way to ensure Moorabool remains the best place to live, work, invest and visit.”
