weather and atmosphere unit. Next week we
will start forces and motion. We will start with
learning about motion and calculating speed
and average speed. Then we will go into
learning about how to read and create distance
time graphs. This unit involves some math
computation using formulas. The 1st test for this
unit is scheduled for November 13th.

Greetings Hurricane team families! Second
quarter has started with a bang! We are
continuing to read and work with our class
novels and working in our literature circles. A
review sheet will be going home on Monday
for the upcoming novel test on Monday,
November 9th. We have been and will
continue working with short stories to help
reinforce the literary skills and concepts that
are being covered in the novel and will be
seen on the test. After the novel test, we will
be moving into nonfiction and the topic of
teens and advertising. Thank you for your
continued support!
In Social Studies, we are wrapping up our study
of the Age of Enlightenment. Our test will be
Thursday, November 5. Our next topic will be
the Age of Revolutions. In this unit, we will study
the American, French, and Latin American
Revolutions. Our quarter two project about the
revolutions will be introduced next week and due
in January. Please ask your student about it or
check teacher websites. As always, feel free to
contact your child's social studies teacher with
any questions.
