Next week we will start forces and motion. We will start with learning about motion and calculating speed and average speed. Then we will go into learning about how to read and create distance time graphs. This unit involves some math computation using formulas. The 1st test for this unit is scheduled for November 13th. Language Arts: Ms. Clarke, Ms. Ladanyi & Ms. Morgan Social Studies: Mr. Combs, Mrs. Modrow & Ms. Smart Greetings Hurricane team families! Second quarter has started with a bang! We are continuing to read and work with our class novels and working in our literature circles. A review sheet will be going home on Monday for the upcoming novel test on Monday, November 9th. We have been and will continue working with short stories to help reinforce the literary skills and concepts that are being covered in the novel and will be seen on the test. After the novel test, we will be moving into nonfiction and the topic of teens and advertising. Thank you for your continued support! In Social Studies, we are wrapping up our study of the Age of Enlightenment. Our test will be Thursday, November 5. Our next topic will be the Age of Revolutions. In this unit, we will study the American, French, and Latin American Revolutions. Our quarter two project about the revolutions will be introduced next week and due in January. Please ask your student about it or check teacher websites. As always, feel free to contact your child's social studies teacher with any questions.
