Experience

1. At least 2 years’ experience of
professional working in a supportive
capacity with women and children who
have experienced domestic abuse.
2. Experience of working with people with
complex needs and challenging
behaviour.
1. Knowledge and understanding of
domestic abuse and its effects especially
in relation to Eastern European women
and children.
2. Ability to speak fluent English and fluency
in an Eastern European language
(Slovak, Latvian or Czech).
3. Knowledge and understanding of the
social and cultural needs of women from
Eastern European countries.
4. Knowledge & understanding of legislation
affecting EE women and the barriers to
accessing housing, supported
accommodation and welfare benefits.
5. Ability to relate positively to women and
children and an active commitment to
user involvement.
6. Cultural awareness in relation to different
minority ethnic groups
