Dear Steck Families,
Steck¹s Weekly Attendance (2/16-2/20): 95%
From the Principal:
We are seeking a couple of interested parents to serve on the Personnel Committee. We are
looking to fill several vacancies and will be doing quite a bit of interviewing. If you are interested
in serving on this committee, please email me by the end of next week at
Robin_Kline@dpsk12.org. Please note that we are tentatively scheduling the bulk of these
interviews on Saturday, March 14th and Saturday, March 21st.
We prefer to have parents serve on the committee to select candidates for grade levels other
than the ones their own children will be in.
CMAS PARCC Testing:
Having your child at school and on time is always important, but it is even more essential during
our standardized state testing days. Our first testing window is March 9th-27th. It is imperative
your child be in school every day and arrive on time ready to learn and show what they know.
Below are the exact dates each grade level will be testing during our first round of testing.
Third grade: March 16th-20th
Fourth grade: March 11th, 12th, 17th-19th
Fifth grade: March 9th-13th
Our next CMAS testing window will occur from April 14th-May 1st for the fourth grade social
studies test and fifth grade science test. The End-of-Year CMAS PARCC window will occur April
27th-May 22nd for all third-fifth graders. The exact dates for each grade level will be publicized
once they are established. You may find the DPS K-8 Assessment Calendar helpful for general
information: http://testing.dpsk12.org/secure/sal_resources/AssessmentCalendarK-8_14-15
Parent CMAS Resources: With CMAS right around the corner, you may start to have questions
about the changes to the new assessments. To provide you with information on the Colorado
Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), DPS has created a parent-friendly CMAS resource
website. To view the parent guides, calendars, sample tests and information from the state,
simply go to: standards.dpsk12.org/assessments.
Vacation/Time-Away Planning:

When looking towards future vacations, please refer to the Denver Public Schools 2015-2016
