Western Trust Post not appointed.
Discussion took place re options on how best to offer support and assistance
to Western Trust. It was agreed that the Northern and Southern Trust Leads
would hold clinics for review patients - suitable locations and dates to be
arranged.
Meeting also to be arranged with potential applicants to explain the role of the
Clinical Lead and the Network.

Comment from dermatology BCH re guidance on direction of application of
creams and emollients otherwise consensus of opinions very positive.
Jane to add work on leaflet to AHA award submission.

Discussion re children’s at risk booklet. Jane suggested having a small
number which could be shared across all Trusts where required.

Dermatology lecture – confirmed 18th Feb 09 – leads to encourage
applications
Casley Smith Training – 4 applications so far for 1st module – leads
encouraged to continue to promote and circulate information widely targeting
appropriate HPCs
Date arranged for 14th Dec at 10 am to film short video clips approx 2 mins
long. These to include MLD, MLLB, donning/doffing aids. Leads to try to
recruit patients willing to be involved.
Discussed possibility of using some video footage from LSN DVD. Lynne to
send a copy of this to Jane

intra-trust PPI groups

This will be a formal stakeholder event to allow patients to be actively
involved in the development of local trust services

Discussed the production of a poster/flyer for GPs to include concise
information on Trust Lymphoedema services, referral pathway and treatment
of Lymphoedema

Discussion re protocol to be developed for the management of obese
patients prior to referral to the lymphoedema service. Suggestions were
made that clinical psychology, dietetics and obesity clinics would need to be
included. Outcomes from the complex clinic should support this.
