Milk Price Change
This is a reminder to parents that the cost of a
carton of milk has changed to $.30 due to the
increased cost to the district.
Grandparent’s Day Lunch
Don’t forget about Grandparent’s Day lunch on
Tuesday, Sept. 11 for 3rd grade; Wednesday, Sept.
12 for 4th grade, and Thursday, Sept. 13 for 5th
grade. The price of an adult lunch is $2.70.
Reservation forms were sent home and need to be
returned to school by Wednesday, Sept. 5 and we
only need those returned if you are planning on
eating a hot lunch. You don’t have to eat a hot
lunch to take part as you are welcome to bring a
sack lunch and participate in the celebration.
Grandparents should arrive at school at 11:50 a.m.
as the teachers will bring students to the gym to
meet you. We will start eating at 12:15 and when
you are done eating, you can have a quick visit
with your student to see their class room. We will
conclude our visit at 1:00 p.m. and allow students
to continue their school day. We ask that you not
expect your student to go with you when you
leave.
Dropping Off or Picking Up Students
Please be aware that our official drop off and
pickup location is the gravel parking lot to the east
of the building. We ask that you use the East
Entrance to the building on Bolls Street as Lewis
Street is narrow and has so much traffic on it. It
makes for some dangerous situations with students
running out in front of vehicles.
PTO Fundraiser
The PTO Fundraiser is in progress. Students are
to turn in their order forms on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
No money is to be collected until the items are
delivered. The ordered products will arrive in
time to be given to parents during Parent/Teacher
Conferences on Oct. 25 & 26. We hope you can
pick them up when you have your conference.
School Pictures
School pictures will be taken on Thursday,
September 20 and forms will be sent home Friday,
September 7. Purchasing school pictures is
optional, but everyone will get their picture taken
for ID purposes.
1st Quarter Midterms & Grade Cards
Midterm is Friday, Sept. 14 and midterm reports
will be sent home with students on Wednesday,
September 19. If you have questions or need to
talk to your child’s teacher, please call and
schedule a time to either talk or meet with them.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held at the
end of the 1st quarter on Thursday, October 25 and
Friday, October 26 and grade cards will be handed
out at your conference.
Book Fair
Our PTO is once again sponsoring a Scholastic
Book Fair. The dates are September 24-27 with a
Family Reading Night planned on Tuesday,
September, 25 from 5-7:30 p.m. with pizza being
served from 5:30-7 p.m. There will be many
activities surrounding the book fair with incentives
for students to read and fun contests to spark
interest in the library and the Book Fair.
Something new this year is Breakfast for Books
scheduled for Thursday, September 27 from 7:158:00 a.m. where parents can come in as well and
purchase books. A sheet will be going home
explaining each and every fun activity or event.
