JOB DESCRIPTION
Clinical Housekeeper
Department:
PreOperative / PostAnesthesia Care Unit (PACU) /
Endoscopy
Reports to:
Endoscopy Department Manager
Ages of Patients served: Children 2 years of Age - Geriatric
JOB SUMMARY
Provides routine cleaning and assistance with patient transportation under the
supervision of the Charge Nurse or Department Manager.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintaining Standards of Care
a.
Assists with transportation of patients between patient care areas
b.
Assist with movement of equipment
c.
Remove trash and soiled linen as needed
d.
Changes out sharps containers
e.
Stocks all linen
2. Cleans:
a.
Equipment Carts
b.
Nursing stations
c.
Refrigerators
d.
Gurneys, including changing linen between patients
e.
Department bathrooms
3. Endoscopy Department:
a.
Mop all floors daily
b.
Terminally clean rooms weekly and immediately after infectious
patient
c.
Assists with turnovers between procedures
d.
Maintains stock supplies
4. PreOperative Department: stocks PreOp towels
5. PACU Department:
a.
Discharges Pain Clinic patients
b.
Cleans dirty utility room

Follows blood pressure cuff cleaning protocol

Adheres to Hospital policies

Observes safety precautions

Reads and signs posted memos and meeting minutes

Takes meals and breaks on time

Follows Universal Precautions

Knowledge of HIPPA
Communication

Must demonstrate communication skills in English

Able to read and write in English

Maintains open communication with team members

Attends monthly staff meetings


JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education

High School Graduate
Minimum Experience

Two years in an acute care setting
Required Certification

Current BCLS certification
