GOVERNORS’ NEWSLETTER
I hope you have all had an excellent summer break.
The first full Governing Body meeting of the new school year was held on Wednesday 26th
September 2007.
Head Teacher and Parent Governors
We welcomed Mrs Christine Mead to the Governing Body together with the new Parent Governors,
Mrs Denise Duffield, Mrs Sarah Mount and Mrs Diane Smith.
Elections
We have to hold elections for the Governing Body Officers on an annual basis, and the following
were elected :Patricia Spencer was re-elected as Chair
Pauline Garnham was elected as Vice Chair.
Helene Smith was re-appointed as Clerk.
Governing Body Business
School Meals - The preparations for changing the school meals contract is well in hand, and the
new contract will commence in January 2008.
School Tuck – The Governors had received a letter from the School Council asking for support in
their campaign to re-introduce the once-a-week tuck shop. The Governors unanimously agreed to
this.
New Building – Planning permission has been granted and the building construction works are in the
process of being tendered for. We will keep you informed of progress.
If you have any comments you would like to reach the Governing Body, please give them to
Mrs Helene Smith, our Clerk to the Governors, via the school office, before the next meeting on
28th November 2007.
