General Statement About CSA
• Mandated to conduct socioeconomic surveys and compile national statistics from
administrative records
•Coordinate the national statistical system (NSS) of the country and be involved in
statistical capacity building activities
•Central data source for the country.
•Since the launching of its Integrated Household Survey Program (IHSP) in the
1980’s, the agency has been able to conduct about 11 different surveys annually
•Annual, bi-annual and ad-hoc survey programs:
• Livestock, Agricultural , Industry ,Household Income/Expenditure , Welfare
Monitoring , Price , Labour Force, DHS etc.
• Population and Housing Censuses (1984, 1994,2007)
• Agricultural Census (2002)
• Consumer Price Index, Price Data, and other indicators

These atlases use the data obtained during the cartographic work for the 2007 population
