Unit Title: Orientation to Law Enforcement/ Emergency Services
Essential Questions: 1. How does the criminal justice system differ from institutions of social control?
2. Describe and explain the three parts of the criminal justice system.
3. Explain how the criminal justice system is really a non-system.
4. Explain how the criminal justice process begins.
5. After an arrest is made, the process of booking occurs. Please explain the steps in this process and why it needs to be completed.
6. What is the purpose of plea bargaining and how does it help the criminal justice system?
