Shopping Cart Theft Deterrent Device
Problem:
Shopping carts are a significant expense to stores and supermarkets nationwide.
The main reason why they are such an expense is because they are constantly stolen and
misplaced; they also require staff to organize and re-stock them.
Idea:
Design a shopping cart tracking system that will be mounted on the cart along with
the existing Verlok unit. Our product will deter users from taking the cart out of the store’s
vicinity. All the units belonging to a store will be programmed such that the alarm will go
off when the cart leaves a specific range.
Key Features:
-GPS or WIFI unit for range tracking
-Power Generating Unit
- Alarm
- Processor
- Software that interacts with the alarm and the GPS or WIFI unit
