Action on
Minutes
The minutes from the Seventh Meeting, dated November 25, 2003, were approved.
UG Student
Representative
Since J. Kinney graduated in December, a new undergraduate student representative will
need to be selected.
Ethics in the
Curriculum
The committee continued its discussion of the development of a task force on ethics in the
curriculum. A charge for the task force will be put into writing by the College
Curriculum Committee. The chair of the Curriculum Committee will set up a meeting
and also check with College Senate to ensure continued support. Departmental reports
(due March 1 to the Dean’s Office) identifying current and future ways ethics is/could be
incorporated into business courses will be copied for use by the task force.
Assessment
Reporting
The undergraduate and graduate assessment coordinators will make regular semester
reports to the committee. Sally Wakefield and Mona Salmon will be invited to discuss
assessment activities/findings (undergraduate and MBA, respectively) at a future
curriculum meeting this semester.
Growth of
Student
Enrollment
Data related to business enrollments in response to the required GPA will be collected
over a year’s span after which time it will be reviewed again by the committee.
Online Courses
The committee made a comprehensive study of online course delivery and decided that
such an initiative would require a major commitment from the administration—additional
funding, faculty, and time necessary to plan and offer such courses. This needs further
evaluation in the context of our strategic plan.
NR Grades
The committee discussed the relationship of NR grades to course attempts.
Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m.
Minutes approved: January 27, 2004
