Resolution Concerning Junk Mail

WHEREAS, the faculty, staff, and students of Stephen F. Austin State University receive
substantial amounts of unsolicited mail and other solicitations in their campus mailboxes, and
WHEREAS, these mailings and solicitations contribute to a considerable waste of resources and
solid waste disposal problems, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the University should implement a policy that allows faculty, staff, and students
to opt out of solicitation and mail distribution lists sponsored by the university, and be it
RESOLVED that faculty, staff, and students should be allowed to opt out of mailing lists that are
sold or distributed to off campus businesses and other institutions.
