International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
 Comprehensive 2-year international curriculum; draws from best examples of world national curricula
 Balanced education (humanities, second language, mathematics, sciences, the arts)
 Promotes global mindedness, international focus and understanding, and responsible citizenship
 Excellent academic preparation for success at the university level.
 Successful students are issued both the OSSD and IB Diploma.
 IB Diploma Programme begins in Grade 11 and continues in Grade 12 (more at http://www.ibo.org)
 Grades 9 and 10 are preparation for the Diploma Programme (called Pre-IB); congregated classes for core subjects, elective
subjects taken with general student population.
Eligibility
Students from Catholic, public and private schools who reside within the city of Mississauga, north and west of Highway 403 and
Highway 410 and north to Highway 407 (please see the attached map) are eligible to apply to St. Francis Xavier SS Pre-International
Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Application Process
Our application process is a two-tier process:
1. The Preliminary Application Package (see website prior to the Information Night) due with all supporting documentation
by Monday November 9, 2015 (submitted to the Student Services office in person only).
2. Secondary School Admission Test (Upper Level; http://www.ssat.org/) on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Please DO NOT
register online at this website. Upon the receipt of application, one session of the day will be assigned to each applicant
and posted on our website.
3. Starting December 7, 2015 the students, who are offered admission to the Pre-IB program based on the selection criteria,
will be asked to accept or decline the offer in writing within a week after the offer has been given to them. After having
accepted the offer of admission, Full School Registration Package will be due by December 17, 2015
Selection Process:
1. Grade 7 Final Report Card – 60%
 Core subjects (English, French, Mathematics, and Science) (33%)
 Remaining subjects (22%)
 Learning Skills/Work Habits (Responsibility, Independent Work, Initiative, Organization, Collaboration, SelfRegulation) (5%)
2. Secondary School Admission Test (Upper Level; http://www.ssat.org/) – 40%.
