Six Weeks:
Objectives for Six Weeks:
Students will develop technology skills using appropriate tools to
develop and design products using technology tools.
Students will use digital resources to enhance the learning of skills.
Math Student Objectives for 4th Six Weeks
K.10 The student directly compares the attributes of length, area,
weight/mass, capacity, and/or relative temperature. The student uses
comparative language to solve problems and answer questions. The
student is expected to:
A compare and order two or three concrete objects according to
length (longer/shorter than, or the same);
B compare the areas of two flat surfaces of two-dimensional figures
(covers more, covers less, or covers the same);
C compare two containers according to capacity (holds more, holds
less, or holds the same);
Science:
K.8A Observe and describe weather changes from day to day and over
seasons
K.8B Identify events that have repeating patterns, including seasons of
the year and day and night
Social Studies:
(K12) Culture. The student understands the importance of family
customs and traditions. The student is expected to:
(A) describe and explain the importance of family customs and
traditions; and

student applies critical-thinking skills to solve problems, guide
research, and evaluate projects using digital tools and resources. The
student is expected to(D) collect, analyze, and represent data using
tools such as word processing, spreadsheets, graphic organizers,
charts, multimedia, simulations, models, and programming languages.
6) Technology operations and concepts. The student demonstrates
knowledge and appropriate use of technology systems, concepts, and
operations. The student is expected to:
(A) use appropriate terminology regarding basic hardware, software
applications, programs, networking, virtual environments, and
emerging technologies;
(B) use appropriate digital tools and resources for storage, access, file
management, collaboration, and designing solutions to problems;
(C) perform basic software application functions, including opening an
application and creating, modifying, printing, and saving files;
(D) use a variety of input, output, and storage devices;
(E) use proper keyboarding techniques such as ergonomically correct
hand and body positions appropriate for Kindergarten-Grade 2
learning;
(F) demonstrate keyboarding techniques for operating the alphabetic,
numeric, punctuation, and symbol keys appropriate for KindergartenGrade 2 learning

Cyber bullying is the focus in Birdville for the Fourth Six Weeks. There is not much that is appropriate for k and 1 in this area. If

Application of Skill: Creation and Innovation
Have students create in Kid Pix’s or Tux Paint a picture of several objects of student’s choice making each object shorter or
longer than others. Then have them type a sentence that describes which object is the shortest, longest, or etc.

Exploring Web 2.0 tools to produce digital products.
Students will use this online resource to draw pictures. Pictures can be printed but not saved except for saving in Kerpoof for
(Instructions in El_Lessons Folder: PDF in folder on How To Draw Pictures in Kerpoof.)

Student will draw pictures using tools. You will need to model how to use the basic drawing tools.
Continue with Kerpoof allowing students to explore the online resource.
Draw pictures of seasons and what type of weather would represent that season.
Tux Paint and Kid Pixs could be substituted for the online resource.

Then students can choose a program like Word, KidPixs, Kerpoof to write one thing that they learned about Valentine’ s Day
from the videos.
Second Activity: Students will use the online resource Tumblebooks and read the story that has an underling message of
Valentine’s Day.
Porcupining: A Prickly Love Story. It is found in story books. Open: Word, KidPixs, or Kurpoof and draw something that
happened in the story. Write a sentence if possible. This fourth six weeks in ELA students are working on writing a sentence.
Symbols of our National Community
Students can practice using online resources to become familiar with the symbols of the USA. Do the Coloring book and have
students choose the big link. Teach students to use the back arrow to return to original webpage.
