Recognition of Faculty in
the Program
Juanita Marquez is serving as Co-Chair of the Learning
Outcomes Assessment Committee and represents all technical
occupational programs.
The committee is developing a College Assessment Plan to be
used by the instructional units and support service areas and
will also assist with defining Student Learning Outcomes
(SLOs) at the course, program and college level to specify
knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes students are expected
to attain as a result of their involvement in a collegiate
experience.

Tracking student outcomes and documenting evidence of
achievement for SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools) compliance is vital to achieving re-accreditation.
El Centro’s next re-accreditation will be in 2012
Juanita will take the lead in helping us with the CT curriculum
mapping and defining SLOs that focus on mastery of core
competencies needed in one course in order to be successful
in a sequential course, degree, certificate and/or CT job.
