Chapter 3 Exercise 7 – PROPOSAL Dr. Ellie Peterson and Dr. Jeremy Prow are studying coral reefs off the coast of Florida. They have used the word processor to create a funding proposal for their coral research. a) Open PROPOSAL and make the following changes: Edit the heading so it reads A PROPSAL FOR CORAL RESEARCH at the top of the page. Change the word basic to complete in the first sentence of the first paragraph under the Summary subheading. Change the word accomplish to complete in the last sentence of the same paragraph. Delete the phrase state of the art in the first sentence of the second paragraph under the Purpose and Description subheading. b) Check the document on screen for errors and misspellings and make any corrections. c) Save the modified PROPOSAL to your folder on the server. Chapter 4 Exercise 7 – PROPOSAL The Coral Research Proposal modified in Chapter 3, Exercise 7 needs to be formatted. Open PROPOSAL and complete the following steps: a. Bold and centre align the headings “A PROPOSAL FOR CORAL RESEARCH” and “GROWTH STUDIES OF CORAL ON SOUTH FLORIDA REEFS.” b. Italicize all of the subheadings: “Summary, “ “Purpose and Description, “ “Coral,” and “Computerized Guide”. c. Change the top and bottom margins to 1.25” and the left and right margins to 1.5”. d. Create a footer with your name and the page number centre aligned. e. Insert a page break before the subheading “Computerized Guide” at the bottom of page 1. f. Bold, increase the size, and centre align the “BUDGET” heading on page 2. g. Format the list below the “BUDGET” heading on page 2. a. At 0.75” create a left tab stop b. At 4.5” create a decimal tab stop h. Insert a page break before the subheading “Notes” at the bottom of page 2. i. Check the document on screen for errors and misspellings and make any corrections j. Save the modified PROPOSAL to your folder on the server. Chapter 5 Exercise 7 – PROPOSAL The research proposal modified in Chapter Four, Exercise 7 needs to be refined. Open PROPOSAL and complete the following steps: a. Use the Find command to locate the word greater in the proposal and then use the thesaurus to replace it with a synonym. b. Replace all occurrences of aging with growth. c. Format the three numbered stages on page 2 as a numbered list. d. In a new paragraph at the end of the document, add a sentence to that states how many words are in the document. e. Save the modified PROPOSAL to your folder on the server. Chapter 6 Exercise 7 PROPOSAL Send the PROPOSAL document last modified in Chapter 5 Exercise 7 as an email message to cnagra@sd43.bc.ca. Type the text Proposal for Research and your name as the Subject.
