Critique any part of it, and point out key scenes readers might find especially interesting. Better reference a REAL review to do this correctly! Create a model of the family’s house. Include the furnishings they were able to provide (house discussed on pp. 53, 54, 62, 64, 74, 94, 95, 200 and 201). Create and present (movie, PowerPoint, cartoon, etc.) an alternative ending to the book. Starting from Chapter 28, how would your version end? Create a collage, the size of a ½ poster board, which represents Packingtown and it’s effect on the lives of the family. Use magazines, internet, hand-drawn images to capture the horrors of living and working in Packington. Images should cover every bit of the poster – no white space should be visible. Write 6 journal/diary entries for one of the characters. Include their thoughts and feelings during key events in the novel. Be sure to choose the major events in this character’s role. Make the finished product look like a journal/diary that would be owned by your character. Stage a session that a character has with his/her therapist. You should take on the persona of a character. Recall the events of their story from the beginning of the novel until the end. Present clips of songs (a song collage) whose lyrics represent elements of the book. Be sure to explain how the lyrics fit the plot, characters, or theme. Songs must be clean of profanity and suitable for a classroom environment. Present a eulogy or epitaph for one characters. You may choose anyone whether they died in the novel or “afterwards.” A normal eulogy or epitaph runs about 250 words.
