DID NOT OUR HEARTS
BURN?

THE POWER OF THE RISEN CHRIST
• To the thoughtful mind the greatest argument
for the resurrection of Christ must always be
the fact that Christianity rose with its founder.
• Nothing but his resurrection can explain the
transformation of the men we saw running in
panic from Gethsemane- into the fearless
evangelists we find in the book of Acts.

THE THREE DAYS
• For as Jonas was three days and three nights in
the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be
three days and three nights in the heart of the
earth. (Matt 12:40)
• From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto
his disciples, how that he must go unto
Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders
and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and
be raised again the third day. (Matt 16:21)
THE THREE DAYS
• Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be
betrayed into the hands of men:(And they
shall kill him, and the third day he shall be
raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
(Matt 17:22-23)
• And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock,
and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the
third day he shall rise again. (Matt 20:19)
MARY THE WIFE OF CLEOPHAS
• Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his
mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife
of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. (John
19:25)
• Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary
the mother of James and Joses, and the
mother of Zebedee's children(Salome) . (Matt
27:56)
• Cleophas was the brother of Joseph

and Joses (Matt 28v1-2 )

gathered together in my name.. Matt 18v22

God in the breaking of bread.
3. Our hearts must burn with wonder at the
wonder of the gems concealed in the Word
THE FIRE IN THE WORD

from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
• My heart was hot within me, while I was musing
the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,
(Psa 39:2-3)
• Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor
speak any more in his name. But his word was in
mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones,
and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not
stay. (Jer 20:9)
LESSONS FOR US
4. Knock , seek, dig, and study to understand
(The Deity delights in stimulating the intellect of His
creatures)
5. Read honestly, and not selectively.
6. Teach others HOW to understand the Bible
Then He opened their minds to
understand the Scriptures
(Luke 24:45 Weymouth )
LET OUR HEARTS BURN

wondrous things out of thy law. (Psa 119:18)
• Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD;
and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in
pieces? (Jer 23:29)
