Role Definition Post Title: Victims First Chief Executive Post Grade: up to £45,960 Line Manager: Accountable to Chair Person and Victims First Northumbria (VFN) Board of Trustees Staff Responsibilities: VFN Staff and Volunteers Purpose: Lead, manage and develop Victims First Northumbria as an independent victim and witness referral and support service, ensuring the provision of high quality support, care and advice with partners to support victims cope and recovery journey through the criminal justice process. Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide leadership and strategic direction in developing and improving services for victims and witnesses align plans and commissioning processes to encourage partnership working and collaboration to ensure the best and most efficient services. 2. Develop and deliver the business plan and fund raising strategies to maximise income and secure long term sustainability, growth and success of VFN as a charitable organisation. 3. Support the governance of VFN by ensuring the requirements of the Registered Charity are met and contractual agreements are in place for commissioned services, providing management and financial information to VFN Board to enable monitoring and effective use of awarded grants and income. 4. Oversee implementation and further development of VFN performance framework and be accountable for the performance of VFN against local plans and Service Level Agreements, including compliance with national standards, codes of practice and all legislative requirements. 5. Increase the profile of VFN and positively promote the service to reach communities throughout Northumbria to benefit and support all victims and witnesses affected by crime. 6. Develop opportunities to increase victim and witness satisfaction and positive criminal justice and restorative justice outcomes, representing VFN on local, area and national groups to help influence and shape support services for victims and witnesses. 7. Direct expansion of volunteering opportunities and infrastructure to ensure a high quality well supported volunteer service providing emotional support and advice to assist victim and witness recovery. 8. Monitor demand for VFN services and develop working practices, processes and systems to ensure accessible, flexible and sustainable service provision. 9. Manage and be responsible for staff recruitment and discipline to ensure that staff has the knowledge, skills and experience to achieve required performance as well as promoting development of staff through appraisal, training and development programmes to create a highly motivated team.
