Devious Doctrines of Diabolic Deception - Part 1 - By

When Jude wrote his short epistle, he apparently intended to write about our common
salvation but was impressed by the guiding hand of the Holy Spirit to exhort believers
on the necessity to hold fast to the principles of faith that were first delivered to those
earliest of the believers by the apostles. In Jude 1:3 he writes this:
"Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation,
I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith
which was once for all delivered to the saints."
To "contend for the faith" would mean to withstand forcefully against any kind of
deviation from that body of faith that was laid out by Jesus and those earliest of the
followers of Christ, meaning the apostles, most certainly. Many Bible students and
teachers harken back to the "early church fathers," but I contend that the earliest of
the "church fathers" were those writers whose accounts formed the New Testament.
And that must be the basis from which we would "contend for the faith which was
once for all delivered to the saints."
The "once for all" phrase in that verse tells us that the truths were, at the first, laid out
without any intent for future changes to be made by further "enlightenment"
discovered by new revelations. A definitive phrase that occurs several times in the
New Testament is "flesh and blood," as in these examples:
1 Corinthians 15:50 - "...flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God...."
Ephesians 6:12 - "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Those two quotes tell us that mortal flesh and blood cannot have any part of spiritual
matters; that is, the offspring of Adam have no part in God's plans. Likewise, when
man, ruled by the spirit of Adam, deviates from the truth and develops false doctrine,
we are fighting against spiritual foes and not flesh and blood people when we
"contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints."
When Jesus announced the foundation of His Church based on the Rock of His deity,
He made that distinction. Matthew 16:15-18 tells us of that distinction:
"He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?' Simon Peter answered and said,
'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'
"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and
blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say
to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of
Hades shall not prevail against it.'"
The implication here, with the two above quotes as backup, is that "flesh and blood"
could not have uncovered the truth that was revealed to Peter. Mankind is totally
dead in sin and cannot penetrate that wall of separation from spiritual matters. This is
confirmed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:11b:
"Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God."
The rock on which Jesus builds His Church is the Rock (petra, or boulder) of Peter's
confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the deity in human form. Peter,
however, is the petros, or pebble, who is to have responsibilities for that Church
Jesus has founded.
It is here that many "devious doctrines of diabolic deception" have their beginning.
A "deviant" is one who is devious in his actions and is defined as a person or thing
that deviatesor departs markedly from the accepted norm. In this writing I will have in
mind that term in regard to those teachings and practices that vary from the Word of
God. And in regard to "doctrines," I will think of it in its simplest form, as applying to
truth, itself, as presented in the word of God.
The meaning of the word "devious" in this article's title is described as "showing a
skillful use of underhanded tactics to achieve goals." Individual words that describe it
are "underhanded," "deceitful," "dishonest," dishonorable," to list a few. Motives
behind false doctrines likely vary, but it is clear that they all stem from that father of
lies, the devil, himself.
Thus it is diabolic deception to undermine the truth of God's Word and the purity of
His gospel of salvation, even to mislead a seeker of eternal life instead to an eternal
hell.
What are the basic fundamental doctrines that are revealed in that Matthew 16
passage?
· The true church is founded by Jesus Christ without any input by "flesh and
blood."
·
Mortal man cannot comprehend it.
·
Its victory over evil is eventually certain.
· Any deviation from the deity that is identified in its foundation produces a false
doctrine.
·
Its true enemy is not mankind but Satanic spiritual forces.
It is interesting how falsehoods clamor urgently to be recognized and accepted as
true in the public eye. The Mormons long to be known as legitimate Christians, yet
their doctrines contradict the Bible's longstanding truths. Any evidence presented to
them is rejected as inaccurate interpretations or even laughed off as inconsequential
and meaningless. That is the general response when Galatians 1:8-9 is referred to,
giving the apostle Paul's position on any "new revelation" from "heaven," as that
passage shows:
"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what
we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say
again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let
him be accursed."
Hidden down inside their doctrinal details is the teaching that up in heaven, before
things began to unfold here on earth, Jesus had a brother named Lucifer. When they,
with God, the Father, (who was once a man and rose in rank to become god of this
world system, which is among many such world systems having their own god in
charge) when they saw the trouble mankind was into here on earth, the two brothers
drew straws as to who would come down and provide a means of salvation for man.
Jesus drew the short straw, so to speak, and this is the Jesus they promote as the
basis of Christianity, the brother of Lucifer. Problem is, we know who Jesus is and
who Lucifer is, and those two are absolutely not brothers! (But this account will not be
disclosed at the first few indoctrinating sessions for their new convert. It's much too
radical, too non-biblical, too diabolical, too "Luciferian.")
Despite scientific evidence that refutes their claims of historical truth for the Book of
Mormon, it doesn't seem to impact them hardly at all. Lack of archeological evidence
of the existence of any of the cities named in the Book of Mormon should speak
volumes to anyone with an open mind, but that is the way of deception. The claim
that the original native Americans were actually the lost tribes of Israel has been
determined false by DNA scientists, who found no link between the two peoplegroups. Again, the findings are largely ignored.
Evidently, promoters of deception think it is more spiritually impressive if Old King
James Bible language is used in choice of translations or quotations. This is not my
attempt to degrade the King James Version translation, but to suggest that the
"thees" and "thous" of ancient England are not more spiritual than the simple
language of today's conversations in whatever language used. Joseph Smith
"translated" his Book of Mormon from those "golden plates" in King James English,
perhaps thinking that was the language of the kingdom of God.
The Mormons are not alone in deceptive tactics. The Jehovah's Witnesses have
produced their own Bible version that relegates the only begotten Son of God to a
son of God, thus attempting to destroy the proclaimed deity of Jesus, the Christ.
Twisting the Scriptures to quote favorable support for their doctrines of deception is a
common tactic.
Those who embrace a false doctrine are harder to convince of the truth than
changing the mindset of an atheist, as one Bible teacher says he has realized over
the years. They are emphatic in their declarations, quoting Scriptures out of context,
interpreting them inconsistent with their context and loudly denouncing their
opponents.
A major source of deceptive doctrines is found in the doctrines and traditions of the
Roman Catholic Church. In Part 2 that establishment will be considered from the
standpoint of an outsider telling what he sees that is in contradiction to the Scriptures.
And there are other deceptions that need to be addressed as well.

Saudi Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal Makes Jaw-Dropping

"I will side with the Jewish nation and its democratic aspirations in case of outbreak of
a Palestinian Intifada (uprising)," bin Talal was quoted as saying by Kuwaiti Al Qabas
daily.
In a startling statement, Saudi prince al Waleed bin Talal has said that he would side
with Israel in case of a Palestinian uprising and that he would attempt to break any
Arab initiatives set to condemn the Jewish nation.
"I will side with the Jewish nation and its democratic aspirations in case of outbreak of
a Palestinian Intifada (uprising)," bin Talal was quoted as saying by Kuwaiti Al Qabas
daily.
"I shall exert all my influence to break any ominous Arab initiatives set to condemn
Tel Aviv, because I deem the Arab-Israeli entente and future friendship necessary to
impede the Iranian dangerous encroachment," he added.
According to the Kuwaiti daily, the prince and entrepreneur urged the Saudi Kingdom
to devise a new strategy to combat Iran's increasing influence in Gulf States by
forging a defense pact with Tel Aviv to deter any possible Iranian moves in the light of
unfolding developments in Syria and Moscow's military intervention. The Saudi prince
is on a regional tour, visiting the other Gulf Arab littoral states-Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar,
the United Arab Emirates and Oman-to muster support for Saudi-backed rebels in
Syria, reported the daily.
"The whole Middle East dispute is tantamount to matter of life and death for the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from my vantage point, and I know that Iranians seek to
unseat the Saudi regime by playing the Palestinian card, hence to foil their plots
Saudi Arabia and Israel must bolster their relations and form a united front to stymie
Tehran's ambitious agenda," Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) reported him as saying
on Tuesday.
The Saudi prince maintained that Iran sought to bolster its presence in the
Mediterranean by supporting the Assad regime in Syria. He added that Russia had
become a real co-belligerent force in Syria's four-year-old civil war by attacking CIAtrained rebels which was why there was a need for a Saudi-Israeli nexus to frustrate
Russia-Iran-Hezbollah axis.
Further, he said that Riyadh and Tel Aviv must achieve a modus vivendi, for Saudi
policy in regard to Arab-Israeli crisis was no longer tenable.
Bin Talal also spoke about Saudi Arabia's military presence in Bahrain to stifle the
2011 pro-deaconry movement.

New assessments suggest the Lebanese terror group is ramping up efforts to acquire
weapons
Israeli officials believe that the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah has amassed
around 150,000 rockets, including a number of long range Iranian-made missiles
capable of striking Israeli cities from north to south.
The estimates represent a 50 percent increase in the group's weapons stockpiles
since May, when a senior Israeli intelligence official put the number at 100,000.
The revised valuation on rockets suggests Hezbollah is ramping up efforts to acquire
weapons whose purpose is to attack Israel, despite its deep involvement in the Syrian
civil war.
Hezbollah forces have been operating in Syrian territory for over three and a half
years. Thousands of the organization's fighters are thought to be on Syrian soil and
hundreds, some say thousands, have been killed there, including at least one senior
officer.
The organization has simultaneously continued to amass short- and medium-range
rockets from Syria while also increasing its cache of Iranian-made long-range
missiles.
Hezbollah has also established a fleet of unmanned combat drones, designed for
more than simple intelligence gathering.
The group is continuing its efforts to acquire SA-17 and SA-22 ground-to-air missiles
as well as P-800 Oniks air-to-sea missiles. In light of the events in Syria and and the
ongoing civil war, as well as the Israeli attacks on weapons convoys en route to
Hezbollah, the organization has upped its efforts to bring in more Iranian weapons.
The group fought a three-week war with Israel in 2006 that saw thousands of rockets
pound Israel's north. Israeli officials say they consider the transfer of advanced
weapons to the group to be a red line; a number of airstrikes in Syria have been
attributed to Israeli efforts to stymie the movement of missiles.
On Wednesday, websites affiliated with the Syrian opposition reported an Israeli
strike near Damascus airport.
Witnesses described huge explosions, and blasts could be heard for several minutes.
According to number of unconfirmed reports, the target of the strikes was an Iranian
arms shipment destined for Hezbollah. Less than two weeks ago, Syrian media
reported that Israel Air Force jets attacked military bases of both the Assad regime
and Hezbollah in the Qalamoun Mountains region near the border with Lebanon.
Despite the assessment of increased weapons stockpiles, the prevailing view in
Israel is that Hezbollah is not interested in a confrontation or a war now.
On Wednesday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said that his organization was
"proud that the little Satan and the great Satan devoted their meeting in the White
House to the issue of Hezbollah," referring to discussions between Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama.
"Hezbollah is at the forefront and in a real position of influence over the region," he
said.

Arab media reports airstrikes that were attributed to Israel damaged military outposts
on the outskirts of Damascus airport.
The target of Israel's alleged airstrikes in Syria on Wednesday evening were
Hezbollah weapons warehouses, Arab media affiliated with the opposition to Syrian
President Basher Assad reported Thursday.
Pro-Assad operatives on Facebook said that the strikes, adjacent to Damascus
airport, struck "military outposts near the airport, and there is a high probability that it
was IDF warplanes that struck."
New portal 'Damascus Alan,' which is affiliated with the Assad regime, reported that
heavy damage was caused to army outposts around the airport, all of which went up
in flames. The site did not specify what damage was caused to the outposts, but they
said that nobody was hurt.
Syrian opposition activist Ahmed Yabrudi said: "Israeli warplanes entered from south
Lebanon, arrived at Qalamoun and flew above the international airport in Damascus
where they struck nearby military outposts."
He added that "the Israeli planes remained in Syria's skies for a half hour, and there
is no information about the outposts that were hit - except that they belonged to
Hezbollah."
Official Syrian media failed to report on the air strikes attributed to Israel.
Israeli defense officials also declined to comment on the foreign media reports.
However, Israel did previously announce a strict-policy of intolerance towards threats
to the state, such as weapons transfers to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The last reported Israeli strike in Syria, on October 31, targeted numerous Hezbollah
targets in Syria's south.
In the October alleged attack, Syrian media reported that up to a dozen Israeli war
planes conducted the mission close to the Lebanon-Syria border in the Qalamoun
Mountains region. Estimated targets included a weapons convoy destined for
Hezbollah fighters traveling through Syria.
The alleged attack on Wednesday night would be the second attributed to Israel
since Russia began operating in the area.
Israel has reportedly struck Hezbollah in Syria several times over the past year.

The Fate of Damascus and the Psalm 83 War
About the time of the end the biblical prophet Ezekiel tells of a future invasion of
Israel by a vast coalition of nations, known as the battle of Gog and Magog, we find
this in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. As we read the headlines in the newspapers of
today, and witness the conflicts in the Middle East, it's not hard to imagine that this
invasion prophesied over 2600 years ago, could be fulfilled in the immediate

Earth Changes Accelerate as 12 Major Earthquakes Hit

Something strange is happening to our planet. Over the past 30 days, there seems
to have been much more "shaking" than normal, and this is particularly true along the
Ring of Fire. This afternoon I visited the official website of the U.S. Geological
Survey, and I discovered that Chile had been hit with 12 major earthquakes within the
last 24 hours alone. The smallest was of magnitude 4.4, and the two largest both
measured magnitude 6.9. We have also seen dozens of volcanoes erupt recently,
including the incredibly dangerous Mt. Popocatepetl in Mexico. Fortunately we have
not seen a major disaster that kills thousands of people yet, but many believe that all
of this shaking is leading up to one. In addition, the weather all over the world
continues to get freakier and freakier. Just today, Yemen was hit by a second major
tropical cyclone in less than a week. Any one of these strange disasters in isolation
may not seem like that big of a deal, but when you start putting all of the pieces
together it starts to become clear that something really significant is taking place.
So why are all of these things happening? Well, some experts point to the sun. In
recent years there has been a tremendous amount of hype about "global warming",
but the truth is that evidence is starting to emerge that indicates that our sun might be
heading into a period of "hibernation"...
The sun will go into "hibernation" mode around 2030, and it has already started to get
sleepy. At the Royal Astronomical Society's annual meeting in July, Professor
Valentina Zharkova of Northumbria University in the UK confirmed it - the sun will
begin its Maunder Minimum (Grand Solar Minimum) in 15 years. Other scientists had
suggested years ago that this change was imminent, but Zharkova's model is said to
have near-perfect accuracy.
And what did we see last winter? It was a very cold, bitter winter that set new all-time
records all over the planet. Here is more from that same article...
Solar cycle 24 - two cycles prior the cycle that's expected to bottom out into a
Maunder Minimum - was weak. In 2013-14 it reached its maximum far below
average. Meanwhile extreme cold-weather anomalies have occurred around the
world. Last year "polar vortices" slammed into the central US and Siberia as a third
hovered over the Atlantic. All 50 US states, including Hawaii, had temperatures below
freezing for the first time in recorded history. Snowfall records were broken in cities in
the US, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and elsewhere. Southern
American states and central Mexico, where snow is rare, got heavy snow, as did the
Middle East.
This past summer the cold didn't let up, with more temperature records across the US
and rare summer snows seen in Canada, the US and China. Birds have migrated
early in the last two years. Antarctic sea ice set a new record in 2013 and it was
broken again in 2014.
Will this upcoming winter be similar?
Should we be anticipating a lot of cold and a lot of snow?
I have been watching stories like this for a couple of years. Our sun has begun to
behave very erratically, and yet very few people are paying attention. But without the
sun, life on earth would not be possible. So the fact that the giant ball of fire that we
revolve around is starting to act very strangely should be a huge news story.
And this is not something that scientists have just started noticing. This has been
going on for quite some time. For example, the following is from a BBC article that
was published last year...
"I've been a solar physicist for 30 years, and I've never seen anything quite like this,"
says Richard Harrison, head of space physics at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory
in Oxfordshire.
He shows me recent footage captured by spacecraft that have their sights trained on
our star. The Sun is revealed in exquisite detail, but its face is strangely featureless.
"If you want to go back to see when the Sun was this inactive... you've got to go back
about 100 years," he says.
This solar lull is baffling scientists, because right now the Sun should be awash with
activity.
Another thing that many scientists are watching closely is the possibility of a magnetic
pole shift. This has become such a concern that even scientists at NASA are talking
about it. A major news source in the UK recently published an article entitled "NASA:
Earth's magnetic poles are 'switching' with catastrophic consequences for humanity",
and the following was the most fascinating part of the story for me personally...
Bruce Jakosky, MAVEN principal investigator at the University of Colorado, Boulder,
said when the switch does take place, the Earth's magnetic field which prevents the
Sun's dangerous radiation getting through, would be neutralized for around 200
years.
He revealed the detail during an historic announcement about how Mars lost 99% of
its atmosphere and its oceans that could have housed early life.
Mr Jakosky explained that Mars had been blasted by solar winds, which had stripped
it of its atmosphere, for billions of years since the beginnings of our solar system.
He said: "When the polar shift happens the Earth will have no magnetic field for about
200 years."
During that time the Sun's solar blasts are expected to strip away at our atmosphere
as they did on Mars billions of years ago.
That certainly doesn't sound good.
How could humanity possibly survive if "the Earth will have no magnetic field" for 200
years?
Perhaps some would survive by living in underground facilities shielded from the
sun. But certainly most of humanity simply would not make it.
Meanwhile, as I have written about previously, scientists tell us that the entire
universe is "slowly dying". Apparently the universe is only producing about half as
much energy as it once did, and over time the level of energy being produced
continues to fade.
Most of us just take for granted that our planet, our sun and our universe will remain
stable and behave normally.
But what if we have entered a time when things start to change dramatically?
What if the years ahead are filled with earth changes of a magnitude that most of us
cannot even possibly imagine?
What will that mean for our society and for the future of humanity?

"Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works
to the children of men!" Psalm 107:8. We learn at a young age to say "Thank you" for
simple things like a cookie or a toy. Hopefully gratitude becomes a habit that carries
over into our adult life. Children aren't always truly thankful and often feel they
deserve a gift given to them, but still they need to learn to say those words of
thanksgiving. So do Christians. We should never take God's love for granted. Do you
ever tell Him "Thank You"? King David wrote "...It is a good thing to give thanks unto
the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most high:" Psalm 92:1. That almost
seems like an understatement. It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord. It is a
very, very, very good thing. God gives us the air we breathe, the water we drink,
sunshine, jobs, food...everything comes from Him. He gave us our salvation. As His
children, we need to thank Him more and complain less. "Let every thing that hath
breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD." Psalm 150:6.
David knew how to praise God and the psalms are filled with gratitude for all He
provides. You might think it was easy for David to be thankful because he was a king,
but he had many troubles and fell short of honoring God many times. King Saul
wanted to kill him, his children were rebellious, he fought many battles with men and
giants, and then there was that adultery incident where David made sure the
woman's husband died in battle. That doesn't sound like a poster boy for honoring
God! David was human and had troubles just like we do today, but he always went to
God for forgiveness and with praise. Many of the Psalms he wrote are filled with
thanksgiving and praise. One of the most joyous psalms is the one he wrote after
bringing the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. "So they brought the ark of God, and
set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt
sacrifices and peace offerings before God. And when David had made an end of
offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the
name of the LORD." 1 Chronicles 16:1-2. First David honored God with various
offerings, then he blessed the people, then appointed men to minister before the Ark.
worshipping God. "And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark
of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:" 1
Chronicles 16:4. It would be wonderful to have a government leader who honored
God Almighty and blessed the people. Then David gave a psalm of thanks to Asaph.
"O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among
the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works." 1
Chronicles 16:8-9 and Psalm 105:1-2. As Christians we need to follow David's
example of honoring God and being filled with thankfulness and praise. How often do
you thank God for His blessings?
"O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that
I should not go down to the pit. Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give
thanks at the remembrance of his holiness." Psalm 30:3-4. David looked forward to
the coming Messiah and sang praises to the LORD...to Yĕhovah, the Existing One.
David praised Him because He brought his soul up from shĕ'owl, that is the abode of
the dead, the grave. Christians today look back to the cross and we have so much to
rejoice over, to be thankful for, and to sing praises about. The grave has no hold
upon us. "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" 1 Corinthians
15:55. Praise God! Praise our Lord Jesus Christ who took away the sting of death
and conquered the grave when He arose victorious on the third day after His
crucifixion. When a Christian dies there is no death. We slip from this mortal life and
our soul is immediately with our Lord. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to
be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8. Thank
You, Jesus, for this wonderful gift.
How many times have you been talking with a friend or a co-worker and hear them
say "Thank god" for one thing or another? Do you ever ask them which god they are
thanking? If they are a Christian, then maybe they truly are thanking God, but most
people say "thank god" just as a phrase with no meaning. Christians have so much to
be thankful for and should truly thank God for everything. "Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in
heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,
according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace,
wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." Ephesians 1:3-6. Have you
thanked Him for your salvation? Not with an off-hand "thank god" but with true
thankfulness which comes from the depth of your soul.
Life can get overwhelming sometimes and it is easy to not feel very thankful for
anything. When the money runs out before the bills are paid or maybe you or a loved
one has been diagnosed with a life threatening disease. Those are the times when
we need to keep God's praises upon our lips. "In every thing give thanks: for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18.The Christians
in Thessalonica faced hard times and persecution for their faith. This was a time
when Christians were thrown to the lions for entertainment and many other horrors
were commonplace. Today the persecution of Christians who live in Muslim countries
is similar to the persecution of those early Christians, and it is spreading. Did Paul
really mean to be thankful for these trials? Actually he said "in" everything give
thanks, not "for" everything. Certainly we cannot be thankful when cancer is
diagnosed, or someone else gets that big promotion, or a fellow Christian is
beheaded because of their faith in Jesus. In these trials we still need to thank God
and sing His praises. He will take you through troubles and be your strength when
you are weak. That's something to be thankful for. "Giving thanks unto the Father,
which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who
hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the
kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins" Colossians 1:12-14. No matter what befalls a Christian, we can
be thankful for our salvation. We have an inheritance that is eternal and have been
redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Thank God.
God has never wanted to be separated from us, but sin did just that. Separation from
God is a lonely, dark, and empty place to be. He gave the Law to Moses as the first
step in solving the separation problem. "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to
bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we
are no longer under a schoolmaster." Galatians 3:24-25. There were many sacrifices
under the Law which covered sin, but sin was never taken away by these sacrifices.
Only the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary can take sin away. Faith in
the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus brings redemption. "By the which will we
are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." Hebrews
10:10. Thank God! Truly, thank God!! He fulfilled the Law, so when we accept Him as
our once for all sacrifice we are no longer under the Law. "By him therefore let us
offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks
to his name." Hebrews 13:15. The animal sacrifices no longer have meaning, but we
should always bring the sacrifice of praise before Him. He sacrificed everything for
us. We can think about it and ponder on it, but we will never fully understand what our
salvation cost our Lord. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that
we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 6:21. How can
you not be thankful for what He did for you? God almighty became human and gave
His life to purchase our salvation. Thank You, my precious Lord.
Like King David before us we need to sing praises to God. Like Paul we need to give
thanks in all things whether being thrown in prison, beaten, or just having a bad day.
What He did for us we couldn't do for ourselves. If that isn't worth our gratitude and
praise I don't know what is. "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."Hebrews 12:2.

Where do you get your news? A recent report by the Brookings Institution about news
is alarming. The report indicates that daily newspapers are down about 80% and
circulation is only around 15% of the population. Moreover, in a 40 year time frame,
journalists reporting the news have dropped in half to 32,000. Within these changes,
a new news genre has arisen, one called "opinion journalism," where facts are not
checked, statements of opinion are made as if they are facts, news is twisted to fit
points of view. The lack of true journalists, according to the report, has caused the
public to have "a hard time judging the credibility of what they read." This, in my
opinion, creates a great danger to free society.
This has created a situation in our nation where people do not know what is news
and what isn't. It is also linked to truth. There are so many views and slants, stories
that sound like news, but are not true, and just plain outrageous claims that people
can become very confused, angry, disheartened and hopeless if they cannot find the
truth. Everybody has their opinion or angle, but very few seek the facts and the truth
behind the facts. This is an atmosphere where people ply the fear of others to impact
agendas. It is a time in our history where people can easily manipulate the masses so
they can come to no sensible conclusions, even to defend themselves. This is the
height of ideological subversion.
For example, there are usurpers who want to divide people on skin color so they can
garner more power and wealth. They will hijack an event, such as what happened in
Ferguson, Missouri, come up with a theme ("Hands up, don't shoot) and create chaos
and confusion. The news media then reports on the event rather than the facts. The
facts, as they came out, confirmed that Michael Brown did not run down the street,
drop to his knees, put his hands up and shout "Hands up, don't shoot." He actually
struggled with a policeman for his weapon and was shot in the process of the
policeman defending himself. Yet businesses and homes and reputations were
destroyed over this demonstration of "opinion journalism."
There are countless examples on gun control, immigration, Islam, Christianity,
homosexuality and more. No facts, just opinion based on what someone determines
is fair. At The Daily Jot, stories are fact-checked. Two-source documentation is the
policy--meaning at least two independent sources confirm a story. Even then,
opinion leaders scoff if the sources do not agree with their doctrine or politics. An
informed public is necessary for citizenship to maintain and prosper a free society.
This means you, yourself, has to take responsibility for discerning the truth, especially
as we are in the days of Isaiah 59:14, where "justice is turned back, and
righteousness stands afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter."
Don't just accept what these "opinionators" are saying, check the facts.

We may be able to evaluate what people do, but we cannot evaluate the motive of
why they do it. Only God can.
Some believers give up certain pleasures and activities because they don't want their
spiritual lives dulled. Someone might look at them and say, "What a waste! They
missed out big time!"
Or, when someone with a promising career ahead decides instead to go to a
developing nation as a missionary, someone might say, "What a waste!"
Still others will decide to simply live for themselves and do whatever they want to do
with their lives. And then God will say, "What a waste!"
Let's not be so quick to judge another person's heart. We can't see his or her heart.
Rather, let's judge our own hearts and why we do things. The apostle Paul wrote to
the believers at Corinth, "Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord
comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the
counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God" (1 Corinthians
4:5).
I think that one day, the people who took the time for God's Word, for worship, and
for serving the Lord will be glad they did. And I also think the people who didn't take
time for those things will realize how much they wasted their lives.
It has been said, "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do
something. What I can do, I ought to do. And what I ought to do, by the grace of God,
I will do."
We can't change the past. But we can decide what we are going to do in the present
and how we are going to live in the future.
