you with some vital information to make your
team’s Relay experience the best it can be!
– Dates:
• March 8, 2012: Team Captains Meeting #2
• April 12, 2012: Team Captains Meeting #3 and Bank Night
Let’s Continue With…
• HOW TO GET PEOPLE TO JOIN YOUR
TEAM. Ask:
– Friends
– Classmates
• Sheets with info. Write on the board.
– Teammates
– Floor-mates, suite-mates, house-mates
• Floor event?
– Fraternity/Sorority brothers/sisters
– Professors, TAs
But how do I ask them??
• Tell them why you Relay!
– Sharing a story will help you
connect with people
• Let them know about Relay and
what CAC’s mission is
– The more info they have, the
more likely they are to join the
cause
Set Goals
• Set goals for yourself.
– Raising $100 gets you an American
Cancer Society T-shirt!
• Set goals for your team
– Create small incentives for your
team to fundraise
– If you reach it, set the goal higher!
Individual Fundraising
• Ask family members and friends
– A kind, personalized email or letter goes a long way.
• Ask your own and your parents’ co-workers
– Parents may have coworkers that have been affected
by cancer and want to donate.
• Social Networking-Facebook, Twitter, etc.
– Post the website for people to donate or at least
advertise Relay. You never know when someone may
donate!
