Are you thinking of applying to University? If so you need to attend the HE
Parents’ Evening in College on Wednesday 9th March. There will be a selection
of university stands where you can speak to admission staff and current
university students, plus listen to the presentation providing essential
information for both yourself and your parents/guardians. Letters are being
given out by your tutor so make sure you receive one or print from the
attachment to the Moodle message. You need to return the reply slip to your
tutor to confirm your attendance

Taster day to provide students with further information about studying STEM
subjects at University, allowing them to sample a variety of lectures in various
subject areas. Tasters include Engineering Maths, Cancer Biology, Earth

take part in at The Courtauld. Fashion and Folds: Explore changing fashions
through a close-up study of works in the Gallery Collection. Conservation Art

painting conservation. Masquerading Materials: Take inspiration from Bruegel’s
grisaille paintings, the day will explore how you can use materials to trick the

Physical Sciences conference – these conferences are where researchers
present their work and tell other scientists about their exciting discoveries. 5th
to 8th April – the week will give year 12 students the opportunity to take part in
their own conference, hear from science experts, experience lecture-style
sessions, get hands-on laboratory experience, mix with current university
students. The conference themes are Chemistry and Physics so you must be
studying one or both to attend. Please note you will not be staying overnight.
Join UCL’s spring term science taster lectures for 6th formers, including exciting
topics from evolution and extinction to computers working at the speed of light.
Final few lectures left for end of February and March. Admission is free and all
students are welcome with booking/ tickets NOT required.

involved in to make you a good candidate for university. Summer Schools are an excellent way to be involved. Some summer
schools are residential i.e you will be staying at the university for the length of the summer school. All will be FREE including
your accommodation, meals and outings. You may have to pay the train fare to get to the university. However, many
summer schools are non-residential, so you can travel each day. You can apply to more than one summer school as they are
competitive. CHECK you are free for the dates BEFORE applying. If you need to complete a statement e.g ‘Why do you want
