PSYCHOLOGY AT HINCHINBROOKE AQA Linear Course 7182: www.aqa.org.uk Entry Requirements: 5 GCSE’s grade A*-C of which you must have a B in at least one science and preferably B in Maths and English. Why do this course?:If you are interested in what makes YOU and other people ‘tick’ then this is the course for you! It will help you understand so much about individuals and will contribute towards your lifelong learning and so be excellent preparation for any degree that involves people: sociology; business Studies; Drama as well as degrees in psychology leading to forensic, sport, educational or clinical psychology amongst many others. If you choose this course you will take your exams after studying for 2 years. The A level consists of 3 exam papers: Paper 1: Introductory Topics in Psychology: Social Influence, Memory and Attachment, Psychopathology. This is a 2 hr exam consisting of 4 multiple choice questions worth 24 marks each. 96 marks in total and 33.3% of the a level Paper 2: Psychology in Context: Approaches in Psychology,BioPsychology,Research Methods.This is a 2 hr exam consisting of 2 multiple choice questions worth 24 marks each and one worth 48 marks respectively, 96 marks in total and 33.3% of the a level. Paper 3: Issues and Options in Psychology: Issues and Debates, Gender, Stress and Forensic Psychology.This is a 2 hr exam with 4 questions. All questions will be multiple choice, short answer and extended writing totalling 24 marks each. 96 marks in total and 33.3% of final mark At the end of year 12 there will be an overall internally set assessment to indicate what grade the student is working at as well as the usual assessments each term.
