Key Benefits of Lean Six Sigma/Process Improvement (LSS/PI) Blended e-Learning

All e-Learning is not equal. All blended learning is not equal. Using highest quality e-Modules, blended e-Learning can solidify skills development and accelerate project savings. Implemented effectively, end-to-end, it can cut in half class and instructor time, and slash student time (for equivalent learning) by 25%. Huge savings can result. Blended e-

Learning is an integration of e-modules, virtual sessions, and live classes. It applies Lean thinking to the training process itself… reducing the wastes of travel, reducing variability in instruction, and improving training ROI.

24/7 online learning access. Prior to class, participants learn the core concepts and tools. After class, they access the same knowledge database, via ‘search’ and ‘review’, as a just-in-time job aid.

Consistent training delivery. If you teach everyone with the same material, the same words, and the same examples woven into the same learning processes, your course roadmaps have more integrity and your organization alignment increases.

More effective use of classroom time. With participants on the same level, class sessions can be used for as much as 75% “do” learning, with particular focus on knowledge application, engaging discussion, hands-on simulations and live-project work.

Higher retention & better mentoring. Retention increases when users control their pace, ability to review, etc.

Good e-Learning is flexible for users. Learning more outside class, sets up better mentoring in class.

Increased access to knowledge, over time. With just-in-time job aids, automated search of e-Learning content, and online Mastery and Remediation testing, natural “knowledge atrophy” can be reduced.

Differentiated LSS/PI Blended e-Learning from XXX in partnership with The Quality Group (TQG)

XXX offers our LSS/PI Blended e-Learning Programs via a business partnership with The Quality Group.

TQG began with blended e-Learning in 1992 when it distributed for IBM, a ‘far-ahead-of-its-time’ course for quality

(operator-level SPC, based upon interactive videodisc technology). Today, TQG is the thought and implementation leader in blended e-Learning for Lean Six Sigma/Process Improvement, and Project Management.

TQG’s e-modules, student guides, class materials, capstone simulations, testing functionality, and blended learning designs are without peer (see screen captures in Appendix B). The e-Modules ‘wow’ students through quality that is exceptional. Our blended e-Learning courses are configured from over 100 e-modules covering Lean Principles, Six

Sigma Tools and Project Management techniques plus 1, 3, and 4-day e-Capstone Simulation versions for Executives,

Yellow, Green and Black Belts. All are delivered through our XXX-branded and administered OpusWorks® e-Portal

), that TQG has developed, hosts and continuously improves for us. OpusWorks is also used by many other enterprises, government entities and academic organizations to increase training impact and reduce training time, costs, and disruption.

LSS/PI Blended Learning Course for XX

1)

Blended Learning Program for Executives. XX’s blended e-Learning LSS Executive Belt course is designed for professionals wanting to learn the Lean Six Sigma skill-set to improve their processes. Students are expected to have an aptitude and general understanding of basic mathematical function, and a proficiency using computer software.

The course features the e-Modules and materials (downloadable student guides, templates, forms etc), per Table

A-1 (see Appendix A). All have been designed from the beginning for blended learning -- training people for better classes, team events and project work. Students will be able to access the e-Modules for 6-months.

The proposed course will be led by XXXX instructor. It will begin with a 30-minute online/virtual kick-off class so

students are oriented to the e-Modules and understand expectations. Students are assigned their first set of e-

Modules, to be completed prior to the 1 st of 2, 90-minute online/virtual classes for the course. During these virtual classes, XXXX will reiterate key learning points, answer questions, facilitate specific tools exercises and assign the set of e-Modules to be completed prior to the next Session. The course will conclude with a one-day in-person class where students will be grouped in teams and guided through the 5-DMAIC steps of a Lean Six

Sigma project using a case study familiar to all.

At the end of the course, to achieve LSS Executive Belt Certification from XXX, the student is expected to:

(i) Achieve a passing score of 80% on all e-Module post-tests

(ii) Achieve a passing score of 80% on a Final Exam

(iii) Actively participate in online/virtual classes

(iv) Successfully complete the Capstone Class Project
