The Most Interesting Music
A music is very unique sound that could express somebody’s feeling about something.
Therefore, sometime, it could make the listener look like a crazy people, feel very happy,
comfortable, sad, defend on the music’s soul. As we know, Music has many types such as: Pop
music, Rock, Dangdut, Reggae, etc. Every type of music has different fan and interest in each place
and situation. The small research of 34 students in VB class in Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar
is resulting that are there types of music which the most interesting to them.
Pop music becomes the first interesting music in this class because pop music has free strains
melody with more improvisation yet light weight. Usually this type of music is calm and very smooth
get into our ears so the listener will be easy to feel what the soul of that music. On the other hand,
pop music is the most popular music in teenager life such it always bring about romance and teenager
life. Noah Band, Geisha, and so on which could interest 70% of the students in VB class. Some
students who are interested to pop music: Hendra Wardiana, Pasek Andrewan, Manik Bayu Kusuma,
etc.
The second is rock music which is the type of music that has strong power, energetic, and
high voice to sing this song. Also, Rock music is heavily influenced by rhythm and blues and country
music. As a result, Rock music could be said crazy music because when we are listening, it could
invite us to get jump, nod, so we can look like crazy people. The theme of this music is not as simple
as pop music who most bring about love; however, it has more varied such as: sex, against to the
government, social condition, and many others. Not only pop music, this also could achieve 20%
interest of the students in VB class by Kotak band, Superman is dead, etc. The students are: Pasek
Ongqi, Deni Indrawan, Hery Yustiana,etc.
Reggae Music is slower tempo music in this type with become the last interesting music for
the students in VB class. This music exactly is a combination of traditional African, American, Blues
and Folk Jamaica. This slower music has a unique sense of phrasing that created by rhythmic patter
accent the second and fourth beats in each bar and combine with drum’s emphasis on beat three. So,
when we listening it could make us feel very relax as on the beach. Restafari, political protest and
Rudie (hooligan hero) are the themes that usually bring by this music’s type which can differentiate
it with pop and rock music. Bob marley, Mbah Surip, and others who could make 10% students in
VB class interest like: Samita Riadi, Gede Artana, Yoga Duwipa, etc.
In conclusion, music is very unique sound that could express somebody’s feeling about
something. Music has many types such as: Pop music, Rock, Dangdut, Reggae, and so on. The small
research is resulting that are there types of music which the most interesting of 34 students in VB
class in Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar. That are 70% students interest in Pop music, 20%
interest in Rock music and the least is Reggae music. And also, every type of music has different
characteristic with others.
