Aims of the Academies
• Provide the opportunity to study in college and university
while still at school
• Smooth the transition between school, college, university
and the workplace
• Encourage participation of under represented groups in
HE
• Support advanced entry into year 2 in Higher Education
• Raise awareness of the industries which are growth areas
in Scotland by providing work experience and work
placement
