HOW DOES ICDL WORK
IN THE MIDDLE EAST
The UNESCO Cairo Office is the licensee
for the operation of the ICDL program in
Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria
and Yemen.
The ICDL GCC Foundation is the
licensee to administer and oversee the
ICDL certification program in Bahrain,
Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and
UAE.
ICDL IN EGYPT
The Egyptian Ministry of Education,
Ministry of Higher Education, and
Ministry of ICT and e-Government
All have authorized the ICDL program
for their employees and teachers.
MAIN STEPS TO GET
YOUR ICDL CERTIFICATION
Study the courses of ICDL 7 modules.
Get your ICDL Skills Card from an accredited
test center. It is a record of each module passed
and valid for 3 years.
Get your test and pass a module by achieving a
score of 75% or greater. The maximum duration
for each ICDL test is 45 minutes.
After you successfully pass 1 theoretical and 6
practical tests, your stamped skills card will sent to the
National ICDL Operator to get your ICDL certificate.

Module 1: Basic Concepts of IT: IT Components of
a computer, definitions, common computer terms,
computer use in everyday life...
Module 2: Using the Computer and Managing
Files: files Working on a desktop, organising files,
simple editing, print features...
Module 3:Word Processing: (Microsoft Word)
Opening a document, basic operations, styling and
editing a document, printing a document...

Module 4: Spreadsheets: (Microsoft Excel) Opening a
spreadsheet, inputting data, working with
formulas/functions, graphs and charts, printing...
