i. Motion to approve August meeting minutes; There was unanimous
approval of last month's minutes.
ANNOUNCEMENT AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
E. Zone 3 Police – not present to give report
F. City Council - Carla Smith
i. Ayanna Williams – Director of Community Building ayanna@parkpride.org
ii. Ayanna works with Park Pride 501(c)3 - Park Pride advocates for parks
and works with the park dept and city of Atlanta
iii. Motion to rename our Park from Friends of Phoenix Park to “Friends of
Summerhill Parks” – There was unanimous approval
G. Public Safety (10 minutes)
i. Crime for August: 4 auto-thefts, 1 larceny near Holiday Inn, 2 residential
burglaries; Compared to August last year, everything down except vehicle
larceny; vehicle larceny went up by 25%
H. Economic Development -Downtown Technical Advisory Group (Jon 10 minutes)
i. DTAG team will provide development recommendation to mayor in October
ii. Braves presented at DTAG meeting; Summerhill and Stadium TAG now part of
the plan

Summerhill/Atlanta Braves Meeting Update (Suzanne 10 minutes)
i. We’re asking Erika Newsome to be on the Park board– parks will be dug up for a
retention pond to mitigate stormwater run-off and will be redeveloped; we
want to be the tabled during this time to determine what should be part of the
re-build
J. Summerhill Fall Fest
i. Website --- www.summerhillfallfest.com
ii. Saturday, 10/5 (David 10 minutes)
iii. We need around 30 volunteers to work 1 of 2 shifts (or both if you’d like) –
please contact Angela Pham @ angelapham25@gmail.com or go to the festival
website to sign up
iv. David working on alcohol license; presenting next Tuesday, 9/10
v. Need to get banners up for advertising
vi. 5K cancelled due to potential Braves game; Run for Bling hosts a virtual race so
that is a consideration

“Trucks On The Hill” - Need Volunteers! /Schedule (David 5 minutes)
i. Next available weekend on 27th and 28th (Phillly game)
ii. Need volunteers to help handle tickets as the trucks cannot handle cash (They
currently do not have a permit to park at the lot so they cannot handle cash)
L. Summerhill Community Branding/Beautification Project (Suzanne/Paul 10 minutes)
i. Light Post painting – want to paint all the lamp posts black on Georgia Avenue
ii. Public works handles these; will need them to come out to do major
maintenance
M. Code Enforcement/Summerhill Ambassadors (Suzanne 3 minutes)
i. Suzanne will create a Google Doc to capture all the issues that neighbors face,
ie. Over growth, dilapidated houses, etc.; Neighbors can update this document
and we will tackle one by one
ii. Summerhill Ambassador – need to kick this off but need a volunteer to head this
N. Winter Wonderland
i. Michael Tyler came to promote Winter Wonderland
ii. Event is Nov. 21- 1/05, Hours - 7-11pm
iii. Winter Wonderland is currently holding job fairs for our community; Due to
miscommunication, we were not included in the original job fair
communication; Suzanne to send email via membership or mail chimp about the
2 upcoming dates; this Saturday from 12-3pm in Peoplestown ($8/hr)
iv. We need to make sure that we are impacted as little as possible, need traffic
plan, noise plan, tickets for communities
v. Stipulations to gain support from Summerhill community
 Michael will give tickets to Micah; Summerhill will request that we get a
specific amount for community
 Request that 6, 7 8 grades (about 350 students) get tickets to take a
field trip to Winter Wonderland during school hours (10-3pm); field
trips on December 3, 4, and 5th
 Winter Wonderful scholarship to Maynard Jackson; we will work with
the school to develop the stipulations
vi. NPU meeting next Monday – give a letter of approval with stipulations that
Suzanne mentioned
 Motion to approve Winter Wonderland with the above stipulations
