CONTENT OF THE SUBJECT
Standards of dental materials. EU Directive, the CE mark, ISO standards, GCP, GMP standard
Biocompatibility of dental materials. Concepts: medical devices, dental materials, biomaterijal, toxicity, biocompatibility. Tests for
evaluation of dental materials biocompatibility.
Chemical elements of importance for dental materials
Chemical connections. Primary, valencione and medjumolekulske links
Reaction bonding of dental materials. Neutralization as a basic chemical reaction in the process of hardening cement. Helatation as
the main reaction in the process of hardening of zinc oxide-eugenol paste, EBA and polikarboksilatnih cemenata. Polymerization as
the main reaction in the hardening of acrilate, composites and elastic material or in combination with the neutralization and
helatacijom of poly-carboxilat and voice-jonomer cement
Corrosion of dental materials. Electrochemical aspects of corrosion, forming microgalvan current, galvanic corrosion, tanning,
metal plating and decay .. Electrolysis compensation.
Chemistry of print material. The chemical composition and hardening processes of thermoplastic mass, ZOE pastes, reversebile
and irreversible hidrokoloida, silicone, polyethers and polisulphide.

Cement. Classification, characteristics. Zinc-phosphate cement, cinkoksid eugenol cement, cement silikophosfate, policarbn and
voice-jonomer cement.
Dental amalgam. Requirements, division, amalgamation, clinical characteristics, treatment of clinical work with amalgam, method
of packaging, dosing, and factors that affect the quality of amalgam construction.
Composite materials. The composition, classification, advantages and disadvantages, adhesive systems, compomers, ormocers,
"smart composites", liquid and composites for sealing of fissures
Materials for the early meet. Types, characteristics, temporary fill based on zinc oxide. Advantages and disadvantages. The
importance of materials for temporary fill in the various therapeutic procedures.
The materials in endodontics. The division, based materials calcium hydroxide. Characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of
certain groups of materials. Recommendations on use.
Inelastic Otisni materials. Thermoplastic compound, cinkoksid eugenol paste. Characteristics, use, disadvantages. Disinfectants.
Otisni elastic material. Reversible and irreversible hidrokoloidi. Elastomers: Silicone.
Material for making working models. White, hard and improved hard plaster. Characteristics, composition, method of obtaining,
service properties. Other materials for making working models (resins, cement).
Materials for making models of compensation. Waxes for modeling and design. Artificial resins in the model
Refractory masses. Low temperature and high temperature Refractory masses. Binding, and thermal expansion of refractory
higroskopska mass.
Acrilate base for dentures. Requirements, classification, composition, characteristics, dimensional changes, porosity, materialsconditioners and liners.

Materials processing and polishing. Brass instruments, design and grinding performance. Natural and synthetic abrasive materials.
Material for sanding and polishing (mechanical and electrolytic).
Materials in implantology. Requirements and classification. Metal implants. Non-metal implants. Clinical and biological response
to dental implants
