Four (4) one class period exams are scheduled. The time of the exam can
be different than the class period . Bring a calculator, student ID, pencils,
and a large scantron sheet (each ~ $.25). Material on exams will come
more or less directly from the homework, lectures and suggested
exercises, but is not the same set of questions. Note that material
accumulates during semester, so exam 4 has questions related to previous
exams. If one exam is missed due to a University allowed absence and
documentation is submitted to me, the prorated final exam grade will be
substituted for the missing exam. Pre-exams are for bonus points, required
minimum % correct answers.

STUDYING, EXERCISES/PROBLEMS, REVIEWS and HELP SESSIONS: Expect to spend at least one
hour/day in efficient studying. Working in groups 1-6 is encouraged. You should read book chapters and
material on web in advance to better understand the lectures and again with your lecture notes and solved
examples. I assume that after that you will work most of the exercises from the book/homework. Material on
exams will come more or less directly from these exercises and lectured material. You can also receive
assistance from Chemistry tutors, however, if you read the pre-assigned material , work with other students
and practice problems in advance you should be able to study material and prepare well for exams.
