Blackboard Portal System™ -- Blackboard Inc.

community portal environment that unifies academics, commerce, communities, and administrative services online through an
integrated interface." A component of the Blackboard Academic Suite™ and the Blackboard Commerce Suite™.
iVia -- University of California, Riverside Library and others.
iVia is an "Open source Internet portal and virtual library system" developed as a platform for INFOMINE. "The iVia system is
an INFOMINE creation generously funded by the National Leadership Grant Program of the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library
Services, the Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) of the U.S. Department of Education, Office of
Postsecondary Education, and the Library of the University of California, Riverside."
O.K.I.™, Open Knowledge Initiative -- Massachusetts Institute of Technology
O.K.I.™ is an architectural framework for educational applications with two layers of Application Programming Interfaces
(APIs): "Common Services" such as course authorization and file management, and "Educational Services" such as coursemanagement.
PORTAL -- University of Hull, e-Services Integration Group and UKOLN.
PORTAL is the acronym for "Presenting natiOnal Resources To Audiences Locally," a partnership between the University of
Hull, Academic Services Interactive Media and UKOLN, the UK Office for Library and Information Networking. "The project is
funded under the Joint Information Systems Committee's (JISC) FAIR Programme [The Focus on Access to Information

uPortal -- Java Architectures Special Interest Group (JA-SIG)
"uPortal is a free, sharable portal under development by institutions of higher-education" who are members of the Java in
Administration Special Interest Group (JA-SIG). uPortal allows an academic institution to provide a customizable, community

WebCT Campus Edition and WebCT Vista -- WebCT
WebCT Campus Edition is a course management system which includes tools for providing course development and delivery
in an online environment. WebCT Vista is an academic enterprise system which provides academic institutions "...with an
enterprise-class e-learning system that actually mirrors and supports their existing structure, operations, and goals."
